| Venting - BIL strikes again! I had asked on the forums about dog food brands and got many responses that Purina was BAD BAD BAD! So I switched Tyler to Wellness. Today we went to my sister's house (the one with the same fiance who said I was stupid to think that everyone puts bows in male Yorkie's hair) to swim at her pool. When we go back in the house my sister was feeding her cat Purina. I said to HER not him that purina wasn't good for Jello (the cat) because it has a lot of by-product in it, etc. Stupid BIL chips in and tells me I was ignorant and the same person who told me male Yorkie's wear bows must have told me Purina was bad. I can't stand him, LOL!! We simply ignored him at the time but BOY was I angry. Thanks for listening my SWEET, loving, Yorkie family (= Last edited by rwprivette; 06-13-2009 at 08:10 PM. | What a d***!! "maybe" he can't handle that YOU know your stuff and he doesn't. I think boys can have a bow, it may not be "manly" but it is sure cute and hey it's not his hair OR his dog! |

| I just don't know how you can call someone ignorant when you have no clue yourself. He's one of those know-it-alls and we've NEVER gotten along. I'm hoping for a miracle and my sister meets someone wonderful! Unfortunately they've been together forever which is why I just call him my BIL> They're engaged so there is still hope (= |

| Your BIL reminds me of MY bil. But there is no escaping him, because he is my husband's brother, lol. He "knows" everything about everything, and it's pointless for me to argue with him! But I do it anyway because I am just one of those people who won't back down when I know I'm right, haha. He even argued with me about the color of blood. He said all blood is blue until it is exposed to oxygen outside the body. ?? I believed that once, but when I hit the age of 6, I became smart enough to know better. LOL. I told him blood is already FULL of oxygen while it's inside the body and he actually shut up for about 2.5 seconds. Wow, got off track for a sec. Hah anyway, I hope you can convince your sister to switch to a different cat food. And next time you see BIL, I hope you put 10 bows in Tyler's hair, and cover his collar in lace! |

YT 1000 Club Member | I know how you feel. In the past month I've had 2 sons with bday's which meant having family get togethers to celebrate. Believe me I've had my fill of them for awhile. I get sick of comments from certain members about my dog. Or the ones that just have attitudes against small dogs and think their dogs are the only ones that matter. I had a 19 year old nephew tell me he'd never have a yorkie. I replied by saying then don't ever get one! I have to take a break from them. They can be so unsulting and irritating. Just because they're family they think they can just say anything. Grrrr!

I know this feeling well. I took Maddy to a family get togther and all my uncles and cousins were making fun of her. That she is a rat dog, they have seen rats bigger than her, you could use her to mop the floor... etc. I just would roll my eyes and say that yorkies have more class than they do. Some people are so close minded. | |

YT 1000 Club Member | I didn't even mention that I had put her little pink and white striped sundress on her and bow in her hair for the party.....I had remarks you wouldn't even believe!! My brother actually was calling her a slut. They think it's all in fun and blah blah but it was tasteless and lacked all cooth. I got so mad I told my brother well your dog runs around naked all of the time so I guess that makes her a whore (not proud of myself for that one). They're the ones that think only their dogs are the best. Drives me nuts. I love all dogs and wouldn't dream of saying such nasty rude things unless I'm provoked. Most of the time I just keep my mouth shut but they pushed me that night. Not that they cared much what I had to say. I'm planning to start up a little business making and selling dog clothes. I hope it does well just so they can see that it might even help pay the bills to dress my dog!

| Sometimes family can drive you nuts! I would never dream of saying anything nasty about someone else's dog. If I didn't like the dog, I'd keep my opinions to myself. Some people just NEVER learn manners! I swear, dogs are so much nicer than people!

| BIL, is a piece of work It is wonderful that you know what to feed your Yorkie, and how to dress him to make him look adorable. BIL is clueless. I'd be talking to my sister when it comes down to our pets. BIL, is an ASS. Family matters are the most difficult to handle. in my situation it is the SIL that i butt heads with , but then sometimes we can get along great.
