| Quick Question My daughter just got a little Yorkie, and she is having a heck of a time potty training him......I found Mya(our baby) very easy to train... This is my question: Are Males typically harder to train than Females? |

| My male was actually very easy to potty train, I think what made it easier was that we already had a female that was house broken, so he just followed what she did, which was of course go outside.

| I've never had a female yorkie, but I do have 2 males and Deegan my 4 yr old was 1 yr old before he stopped having accidents in the house. I've had him since he was 12 weeks old. Trooper is my rescue pup. I got him when he was about 1.5 yrs old (this past January). He will be 2 yrs old in July and he still has accidents in the house - quite frequently.

| Hmm... I don't know. Seems like he was doing so well there for a while, and then he went back to his old ways. What exactly is UTI and how would I find out if that was an issue?

| I have both female and male. I think it depends on the dog and person training and how consistant you are! I let mine have free run of the house too soon and had lots of accidents. Now we have very few accidents in the house.

YT 1000 Club Member | It's a urinary tract infection. If you suspect this and aren't sure you should take him to the vet. If that's what it is he'll be put on medicine for it. Roxie has been difficult to train too. But now that it's nice outside again it's going better. I know that sometimes if it becomes a big problem you pretty much have to start all over with potty training such as crating when your not there to take him out every 30 mins or so. I know that Archie has posted great advice on this topic so she'd be a great person to consult with.

This little guy that we are looking after, I believe is much harder than our female....but then again I;m not with him 24/7....I only have him for 5 days..... I just find it so frustrating, that I let the two of them outside for 10 min and then the little guy pees in the house with in a 5 min span....like DUHHHHH !!!!!!!!! | |
