| Put your foot down.... I don't know what they think because every single time that I've taken my dog to a different groomer it's like they get a mind of their own and take charge! but now I let them know ahead of time that my husband is very very very picky about the way our dog looks and, my husband has even went to the groomer himself so they know he is serious and now they do it the right way or else they know they are going to have to hear it from him.....Put your foot down and let them know that if they want to get paid they will do it right! | I feel your pain. Took my baby to a new groomer, explained exactly what I wanted and when I went to pick her up she was cut like a Schnauzer. If I wanted a Schnauzer I would have adopted one. I was furious. I paid him half only after he promised to cut her again in a few months for free to shape her up. Needless to say I don't take Layla there anymore. I now take a picture with me to show them what I want her to look like. So find a picture of your dog with a cut you liked or another picture of a yorkie cut that you like and take that with you each time. It works for me. |

| That's why I groom Uni myself. I've heard too many stories like this! I'm sorry your baby's fur got shaved off! Hope it grows back fast!

| I am sorry that your baby got a bad haircut at the pet grooming salon. If you continue looking for another groomer, I am sure that you will find a groomer that gives your dog the haircut that you desire. When you find the right groomer, I hope you post pictures of your dog with his cute haircut. Last edited by JoshieBoy; 06-01-2009 at 06:40 PM. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I don't understand why some groomers don't understand when you tell them what you want. I mostly groom mine myself but the couple times Roxie went and Cali several times, the groomer went over exactly what I wanted and knew I wanted them in full coat. I would be so mad too if that happened to my girls.

| Good groomers are as hard to find as good hairdressers! One way to look for a good groomer is to keep an eye out for yorkies who looked well groomed and get referrals from their owners. I have a great groomer....I still sit there with my pups when they are groomed. I will not leave them anywhere! Aside from bad haircuts, many other things can happen and I just will not take chances, no matter how much I like my groomer. Call me the over protective mom!
