| Extreme Anxiety!!! My boyfriend and I have been leaving Kaia alone starting with small, short periods at a time. Even after 5 minutes, we can hear her screams and incredibly loud cries down the hallway. It sounds like we have a kennel in our condo, except...we have just one puppy. Last night, we left for 30 minutes and came back and as soon as we opened the door she vomited up her dinner when she saw us walk in. This morning, I ran some errands while my boyfriend was at work, and sure enough, I walked in to a puppy crying and her breakfast vomited up on the floor. I'm so upset and angry at myself for just starting to leave her, at 16 weeks. We have gates all over the place so that she is confined to the one room while we're gone, but she gets so worked up that she gets sick. Please help...I can't possibly see her go through this and I am feeling horrible! |

♥Tiny Tia my Furbaby♥ Donating Member | It must really distressing for both of you but have you thought about putting her in a crate , it may make her feel more secure.

| As you were saying that, I was cleaning out a kennel her breeder gave us for travel. She's great with being confined (she loves her carrier and is usually with us!) But, it's really hard for us both to see her so upset. This will be my first time attempting to crate a puppy. I just cleaned the crate out and put a few treats in it, as well as a blanket she usually sleeps with. She walked by it a few times and just gave it dirty looks. |

| hi there, my heart bleeds for you! i had the same problem with my king charles spaniel. this is called seperation anxiety, (so my vet says).. the crate is a good idea because the like small spaces, it makes them feel safe, try this, get your coat on, get your car keys, or wotever you take when you leave the house, leave and enter imiediatly, dont make any fuss of the dog when you return, do this up to ten to twenty times, this gives the dog the idea that you are going to return, each time dont make any fuss of the dog when you return, just take your coat off. wait a few minutes and do the same, after a while she wont bother what you are doing, each time leave it a little longer before you return, soon she will realise that theres nothing to worry about, it took me a full weekend of leaving, waiting in the garden a few minutes, (all the while listening to her crying) before she just stopped! she knew then mommy was going to come home. good luck i do hope this helps. it worked for me.x
