| Brush Hair/10 min. Later Needs it Again? Am I using the wrong shampoo, or is this how it is w/yorkies? I brush Apple's hair, every morning, band up her top-not, and in 10 or 15 minutes, she looks like a raggamuffin? She's 6 1/2 months old, and I just wondered if it's her baby hair (the black hair), and not her new hair (the silver hair) that looks unkempt so soon after her brushing? I was thinking about getting the black hair cut off, about 2 inches, and leaving the silver hair, about 2 inches, but I keep my house pretty cool at night, and thought she might need it for warmth? Is this the norm w/the york'sters? Maggie & Apple |

| I'm not a groomer expert as I keep Jackson's hair short... but I know when Jackson still had all of his black puppy hair, it did the same thing! When he first got groomed, it helped tremendously.

| OMG Remy is exactly the same way!!! I am soooo jealous of some of the pix on this site where the pups have smooth, fabulous hair... I comb him out twice a day (he hates the brush) but as soon as I'm done the little stinker shakes himself and rolls around on the floor ... grrr... his hair is never tangled or matted it just never has that smooth soft appearance... I was also wondering if its still his puppy coat he is 9 months |

| This happens when they have the true silky hair, which is what you want them to have. My one biewer has hair like that(it's really not supposed to be silky like a yorkies, but, it is, the other 2 biewers have hair that mats up as soon as you touch it, but, is gorgeous if you can keep the mats out. The one I keep short, but, I just don't want to cut Tootsies, as she is so tiny and I'm afraid she would look like a rat with no hair. |

| Piper just turned 1 year. I have her groomed every 6 weeks. When Piper was in that stage when she had her puppy hair on the ends and her adult hair growing out she always looked like a ragamuffin. My groomer told me to make sure I brushed Piper often because what happens is the puppy hair tangles around the adult hair and causes snarls. She had hip surgery so I had her cut very short so all the puppy hair was cut off. Now Piper just has her adult hair and brushing her is a piece of cake and she stays nice looking most of the day. There are hardly any more tangles only sometimes under her arms from her harness when we take long walks. She has a silky coat and it is very easy to brush and comb her. I think you'll find once the puppy hair is gone she'll stay neat for a longer amount of time after her daily brushing.

| Baxter is the same way. My husband constantly tells him that he looks like he slept in his clothes! And he hates to be combed. Gave up brushing long ago and only use the comb now. He despises the brush more than the comb. |

| coral is the same way. i brush her and 10 minutes later she is looking like a hot mess again. the good thing is she never mats, i only have to comb her every few days. does that mean she is going to have silky hair?

| My little George has the same problem,(he doesn't think its an issued though) I too thought it was the shampoo and have tried three different ones, he's even worse when he gets out of bed in the morning cause he always sleeps under the covers, he dosn't mind the brush but not too keen on the comb, I still have a problem brushing his rear end though, goes for his op next week poor baby I'm starting to get worried.
