Is it potty training or the lack thereof? Tearing up today's newspaper? Chewing your favorite sandals? Humping the pastor's leg during a visit? What? Can't be that bad, can it?

| thanks. I probably won't be able to give him up. I love him too much except for today. I don't know. I don't think it is him. I think it is me who has the problem. And then he just adds to it by not behaving himself. He can't be quiet. He has to bark his butt off. Then he has to walk around and eat everything he see. argh. Thanks everyone. I just needed to vent since the hubby doesn't want to listen to me. I know that yorkietalk friends will be there for me since the hubby won't. Thanks. |

| hahaha...I had to laugh reading the "humping the pastor's legs" part. I think it is more like my legs. That is getting annoying. Everytime he tries to do it, I say No and move my legs away from him. Oh yes, eating and ripping napkins and tissues. Not to mention the trash, he loves trash. chewing on all the shoes. Hubby yells at me all the time when he chews on hubby's shoes. So I had to put all the shoes in areas where he can't reach..now he also loves to go under the bed. Rolling outside in the dirt too. Senior Yorkie Talker | I don't mean to giggle...but my little guys' name is Charlie too...and he drives me bananas! He barks at anything that moves, he chews, he bites the neighbor boy, he pees on Everything - including my girls (yorkies that is), he jumps, and he'll hump anything, anywhere, anytime! No amount of training, in any way, shape or form seems to help!! YIKES! I've also thought - alot! - about rehoming him... But, call me crazy, I still love him, not to mention I'm afraid of what someone else with less patience might do to him! Hang in there, it can't be that bad after all. Maybe we should change thier names? lol

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Sorry you're having a rough time with him. The first year is really challenging. I really like the pennies in the can for training not to bark. I keep several cans available, and use them every time he barks. The noise has to be loud enough to get their attention, and you shake it for each bark and say "no". Never let them get the last bark. The eating everything in site will lesson over the years, but barking won't unless you teach him not to do it. It takes time, and it's important to never yell, this just agitates them more. It will seem like the pennies agitates them, but eventually they will learn they you have more willpower than they do, and will stop barking after a few shakes. In time, just the word, "No" works or fingers to the lips in a sh sh' ing motion. Best of luck, it's a lot of work, but it really pay off.

| hehehe..we should change their name. First we wanted to call him Max. However, my father in law has a Max story from work. He refused to let us call him Max. He does yardwork for this lady who has a dog name Max. Max poops and pees everywhere and barks non stop. So he wanted us to call him Charlie instead. Lol. He is just as bad. he drives me bananas most of the time. Even if I wanted to, I know I could never give him up. He has become a big part of my life. Quote:

Thor's Human Donating Member | I hate to say it, but I think he is behaving just like other dogs! When I am not adoring the heck out of Thor, I am annoyed with him. I was thinking just the other day how much I want to rescue and rehabilitate a daschund, because they are apparently abandoned a lot for bad behavior, like barking. I was thinking I'd like another project because I have so much fun teaching Thor. And then today, I'm like, WHY are you still afraid of the handbag that I wear EVERY SINGLE DAY and has never lifted a finger towards you? It's all patience. Personal growth is always uncomfortable.
