| Help! I think my baby might be a silky?! I have a boy, Charlie who looks exactly like a typical yorkie should, he's a little over 5lbs. About 7 months ago I bought my second baby, Chloe, and although her papers say her parents were both Yorkies, she is 8 lbs and is 11 months and doesnt look like Charlie at all, shes longer and is her body is all silver, and her head is golden. I know Yorkies can vary in appearance but on top of it all, people keep asking me if she is a silky. How would I know? Here is a picture of Chloe and Charlie together so you can see the difference (Charlie is the black one!) |

| Oh and I wouldnt worry about anyone saying Chloe looks like a silky. It is common for people to think bigger yorkies are silkys when they are not they are just bigger yorkies. My Groomer thought My Chachi was a silky because hes about 5 lbs bigger than my Jewels. On here we call the yorkies over 7 lbs teapots

| Hi there , and welcome to YT You have Two beautiful yorkies. Your Chloe is 100% full yorkie to me! She is a silver blue yorkie.. That is her coloring, and is recognized as a pure bred Yorkie! Even though her weight is higher then 7lbs , she is still a Yorkie . There a a lot of people here on YT that get rude comments from strangers all the time about their Yorkies ! Try not to let it upset you. Your Chloe is a yorkie and she is precious.

| Size matters Our neighbors two doors down bought a Yorkie pup 7 or 8 months ago from a big chain pet store (one that I boycott). Well, a couple of months ago they became alarmed by his size (he now tips the scales @ 16-17 lbs.) and ordered a DNA test, which came back 95% Yorkie, 5% undetermined....anyone heard of this ? My wife & I joke they have a part Yorkie, part Rottweiler mix !!!!!!! |
