| Sammy is about 12 lbs., but he's not silver. he's still black (unless this is the blue black people say and I don't know it!) and tan. |

| Sophie is black like that too. She's not the silvery/blue color. At least not yet. Of course her face is tan/golden with some silver mixed in. I think there may be some changes to come yet in that area. But everyone tells me if she's still this black at 7 months...it will stay that way. I'm no expert though. This is my first dog and my first Yorkie. |

| I'm pretty sure my two will be teapots, too! They are 19 weeks now & a week ago I weighed them...Chewy weighed 6.5 lbs & Sophie weighed 5.5 lbs. It's funny because Sophie doesn't look or feel like 5.5 lbs & Chewy feels like he's about 8 lbs but doesn't look like it! I love them just the same, though. And I still think they are gorgeous. These pictures were taken recently. (Chewy is 18 weeks in his and Sophie's were just taken Wednesday to show off her new harness dress & bow, so she is 19 weeks in hers). |

| Thank you! I just picked her up from the groomer and ran her back to the house. My DH is off today and I have to work. I'm trying to get him to take a pic with her all groomed, but she's sound asleep. A good grooming session does it to her everytime! |

| Tansy, on my avatar, is 11lb, my old lady & a real sweetie. I have two others, one small at 4lb, but the other is 8lbs. Isn't it funny how Yorkies vary so much. I have two other breeds, which I show & sometimes breed, they all end up virtually the same size as each other. I suppose with Yorkies it's a throw back to the various breeds that went into making them. My Tansy is the absolute spit of a Clydesdale Terrier in one of my old books on the origin of the Yorkie breed. xx Meggie |

| NO, He's NOT a SILKY, He's a YORKIE! My Artie is on my Avatar, he's a whopping 10.3 lbs. and he's 5 yrs. old, he is pure "Muscle"! I call him "Sumo" sized, I also have 2 other Yorkies that are 7 lbs. and 5 1/2 lbs. they are also very Muscular since they get alot of exercise, I make it a point to walk them at least twice a day for 30 min. each time. I always get alot of rude comments about how BIG he is and if he is a Silky? He is the smartest, most entertaining he out performs the other 2 w/c are females, he goes out of his way to please me and make me smile. He was my first Yorkie and I bought him from a Breeder, that had purchased him as a "Stud" or Breeding Stock but when he got over 5 lbs. she SOLD him to me! Since he was Neutered just last year he put on even more weight but my point of all this was......even thought he's too Big for others, he's just Perfect to me and if it is'nt obvious he's my Favorite one! I love my other 2, but they are too Fragile to be around children and they a very Accident prone, they have gotten stuck in too many small places.

| My Shelby Rae is 10lbs and people always say oh she's a yorkie...she's hugh!! but i love her just the way she is and she has been healthy as a horse...I'd rather have her a little bigger and healthy...I don't know why they say that because she looks like a yorkie ..

| Well I bet I have the biggest "teapot" of them all, Hamish, who is 15 years old, weighs in at about 16 lbs. I brought him with me from Scotland, where, honestly, most of the yorkies were over 6 pounds, hardly any teeny tiny's. Here is him in his Christmas Elf suit. He is still not talking to me because of the hat! I love him as much as my 3 pound 4 month old. Just tell people your baby is too special to be contained in a few pounds....all the love needed somewhere to grow. Kate Last edited by redvalaria; 04-11-2009 at 06:46 PM. |
