| Would you be annoyed by this? I have ranted to my husband about this but I wanted to get some outside opinions if you guys don't mind I have had my 2 older dogs since I was a kid. My parents got Jasmine for me when I was 12 and even though I have a brother and sister she was always considered my dog. Then my family got our dog Lucky a couple years later from a shelter for him to be my brothers dog and then we got Caz and he was my sisters dog. When I moved out of their house I took Jasmine with me. Then about a year later I got married and my hubby and I moved into a one bedroom apartment. I was talking to my mom one night and she told me that they really didn't want any dogs in the house anymore so they were going to give Caz to my aunt (Lucky was an outside dog but I'll go more into that in a minute). My sister (who had moved out too) and I weren't very happy about it but at least he was going to be with a family member. He stayed with her for awhile but it didn't work out so they told me that they were going to try to find another home for him. I was VERY upset about that so I talked to my hubby and told them that Caz was going to come live with us in our one bedroom apartment. This part still really upsets me.... my parents are wonderful people and they love animals but I still have no idea what they were thinking with this one... so then I find out that they are talking about taking Lucky to a shelter because it was just them now and he didn't get much attention and was digging holes in the yard. At that time I think Lucky was about 10 years old, he was a bigger dog and he was a mixed breed. I knew that it would be hard to rehome him and he would probably be put to sleep so I told them I would be so mad if they did that and to just be patient because I would take him as soon as my hubby and I could get a house. A year later we got a house and Lucky came to live with us and was an inside dog (I'm against dogs living outside). Lucky passed away a couple of years after he came to live with us My sister ended up moving back home and talked my mom into getting another dog without my dad's knowledge. They got a long-haired chihuahua they named Sadie. My dad wasn't thrilled but of course she was really cute so he ended up being okay with it. After a short period of time she became his everything. That dog is FAR more spoiled then my dogs and mine are pretty spoiled. I never thought I would see the day that my dad would let a dog sleep in his bed. Besides being spoiled she is a pretty big brat. She barks at everyone (except for a few select people) the whole time they are in the house. She attacks people if they come near my dad while she is laying with him. She is so mean to my dogs when I take them over there (my dogs are very well behaved) for no reason. So then, they go and get ANOTHER chihuahua. Peanut is a sweet dog but he is scared of everything. Plus, now Sadie attacks my dogs if they come near Peanut. Yesterday I took Tobie over there so they could see how big he's gotten and Sadie was being mean to him as usual so she went in the other room with my dad. Peanut was running from him like he was the scariest thing in the world and would even growl when Tobie was able to get close to him! I am so annoyed #1 that they went and got 2 more dogs after they wanted to get rid of the family dogs because they didn't want dogs anymore. #2 that I can't bring ANY of my dogs over there without Sadie being mean even though two of them lived in that house far longer than she has #3 That they don't get disciplined for their bad behavior. When Peanut was being scared/mean to Tobie my mom picks him up and is like, "Aw, he's scared. Poor baby". I made a comment that Peanut was a big baby and was acting like Tobie was some big scary Doberman and I think they (my mom and sister) were annoyed by that. Wow, that ended up being a lot longer than I thought it would. LOL. If you were able to get through all of that.. then am I overreacting or would this whole situation irritate you too?? I feel like they get annoyed when I bring one of my babies over there with me when I visit (even though they have never said that) because THEIR dogs misbehave when I do. How do I tell them that their dogs need discipline and Peanut desperately needs to be socalized if it's not too late or should I just have to live with not taking my dogs over there?? Would you say something to your parents? I just had to get this off of my chest because the only person I can talk to about this is my hubby and of course he is annoyed by it too.

| I don't blame you and I would be annoyed too. I am not sure if I would say anything unless I knew I could say it is a nice calm manner...so I did not look like I was over reacting....

| I would be very annoyed. I have a similar situation sort of. I live at home while in college with my mom, step-father, sister and their dog. Sometimes, I will go and stay with my dad who lives 45 minutes away and I always bring Jackson (my yorkie) with me. Jackson is very well behaved. I have him trained really good especially for 5 months old. When he starts the barking nonsense, I immediately go over and stop him. He's getting good at me simply saying "Quiet" and he knows. Well... their Jack russel/shihtzu mix is so untrained. She's over a year old and the minute she sees anything outside she is just BARK BARK BARK BARK nonstop. There's nothin' you can do to stop her. I tried a few times. I pointed my finger at her once and said "No!" and she bit me. She just never shuts up and they just put her outside when she barks so she annoys everyone else, lol. She's basically just untrained and babied. She pulls so hard on a leash she chokes herself. She just ugh. And even though her and Jackson can be the best of friends, she can also get very nasty and jealous at times. She's bit at Jackson and hurt him. But I always feel like they're on HER side. It's just annoying. And when you tell my dad's girlfriend she's untrained she gets kinda defensive.

| Wow, how sad! You're such an angel for rescuing the other two "family pets". I'm sorry for you're loss of Lucky and family freedom. If I was in your shoes I wouldn't take my doggies over there anymore. Families suck some times, but you should be able to talk through this with each other. Maybe one on one would be the best way to start. Is there one of them that you're closer to? If so, maybe start with them.

| Wow. I would be really annoyed too. Especially if they were so willing to get rid of their family dog and then soon after buy not just one, but TWO other dogs. Doesn't make sense to me... Maye you could suggest some dog training for your parents' dogs? You could do this in a friendly way without coming off mean. But if you're like me, you don't like leaving your furbaby alone, then I would feel that either your parents are going to have to start training their dogs or you just won't go over anymore!

| Thanks for the responses I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't being too emotional about it because I love my babies so much. I just wonder to myself.. why are these dogs that don't behave treated so much better than my well behaved babies were (not that they were treated bad, they just weren't spoiled like those 2). I just don't get it....
