What Did Your Yorkie Do This Weekend? Higgins went to a BIG family barbecue and got LOTS of attention from everyone there! There were plenty of kids, but he got special attention and great CARE from my two nephews who are 13 and 10 years old. I was some impressed with how gentle and mindful they were with Higgins! They played with him so appropriately and he had a ball! It was great to re-inforce his socialization skills that he acquired when we were camping in Florida. He also enjoyed a few bites of hot dog and hamburger, too! The weekend was delightful weatherwise, but now it is back to cold and rainy! We're spending the week cleaning up our camper and getting it ready to go as soon as our new mattresses are ready sometime this week! I LOVE camping and we've been home for a month and the dogs and I have HITCH-ITCH somethin' wicked!

What great fun! I hope Higgins didn't overeat with all the goodies at the BBQ! Yoda slummed it at home with Mom & Dad, though he did get to visit Grandma for a lil' bit on Monday afternoon. Pretty relaxing weekend for all of us!

| Sounds like poor Toto had a "slummin'" weekend like Yoda!! We all just layed around the house and rested ... we did buy "Cheaper by The Dozen" and watched it! Steve Martin is a hoot!! We decided to skip the holiday traffic and go somewhere later this week. Pat told our neighbor [who keeps an eye on things when we are gone] that we would be out of town for a few days ... the neighbor was going to let us know that they had decided to do the same thing!! Darn ... we'll all just have to cross our fingers!!

Max went to the beach We are back visiting in Galveston.....Max has personally marked one hundred million shells, seaweed, driftwood, empty soda cans...... He thinks it is his job! .....in the evening....little crabs emerge from their hidey holes...and then the fun begins......he runs at them...barks....UNTIL....they move in his direction and he runs with his tiny tail tucked under...... to me as fast as his little legs will carry him.......one actually pinched onto some hair on his leg....he hopped, spun and shook his foot until I thot I would die from laughing....(the crab was about 1/2 inch wide)......the beach is a great playground for mister Max....and he is a hit to those walking by....Aren't Yorkies special little guys and gals?

ROFL I can just see him chasing those crabs!!!! Just a note of caution about tiny dogs on beaches......When we were in Florida this winter, the park ranger warned us to keep Higgins under cover when outside as there are many raptors that love to scoop up little dogs. This ranger was a Chihuahua breeder and had one of her pups grabbed by a hawk not five feet from her in her own backyard! Also, a camper at Gulf Shores had her dog grabbed by a raptor when they were playing on the beach. So, keep an eye on the sky and if you see any hawks, osprey, eagles......best to grab up little Max and head to the parking lot. They say that turkey vultures don't go after them as they only eat carrion......eeeeewwwwww......

That would definitely be a sight to see! A Yorkie chasing crabs, then BEING chased by them!!! Yes, definitely look for large birds around as they can definitely be dangerous! Have fun on the beach otherwise though!

Thanks for the warning! I will watch for danger from the sky....Lord, help me...... I have to do defensive walking, playtime, beach time, potty time..... as it is......because there are so many things that can hurt him.....he is tiny..defenseless and completely in denial as to his size...... but he is worth it!
