I just got my new Dog Fancy in the mail today and on the cover it says

Valuable Petco Coupons Inside

I am DISGUSTED that this magazine supports such a despicable store and thus support puppy mills.....

If you would like to write to them- as I did- send your email to

If this continues I will be discontinuing my dog fancy subscription.

Help me out here I thought Petland was the one selling puppies from mills not petco.If I am wrong can you clarify for me.

I also thought it was petland. I've been in petco's and never seen any animals for sale.

I don't know much about Petco or how they support puppy mills. I didn't think they sold dogs but I don't shop there much. I do know that most print outlets, magazines, newspapers are having a hard time staying in print right now and they probably need any and all advertisers. That being said, I do believe it is everyone's right to not support things they don't believe in.

Our Petco stores have dog adoptions on Saturdays from shelters and rescue organizations. On Sundays they do the same thing with cats and bunnies.

Well, yes, adoptions from humand societys and animal shelters. Our petsmart does that I think once a month or once every few mos. but, they have them outside, and it's not the store selling them

Our weather doesn't allow that, everyone and everything would be frozen solid! LOL
They are allowed a space at the back of the store to set up each weekend.

The petsmart by me adopts out cats and sometimes dogs,but it is through the humane society.I just wanted to know if there was some new info. I was not aware of reguarding petco.I like to be in the know on these things.

I don't see a problem with having coupons in this magazine. After all, the magazine wouldn't be able to stick around (especially in this economy) without other companies paying to put their ads and coupons inside Dog Fancy.

Marce are you talking about Petco or Petland, because, I never seen a dog for sale here just adoptions from rescue groups

anyway I will not get that mag anymore since the director was talking about dog wearing clothes in that show I think was called American greatest dogs or somenthing like that
