| Working and Guilt I thought since I only worked 7 1/2 hrs. a day, it'd be o.k. to leave my baby, while I was gone...However, I've grown to love her, so much, I hate leaving her, and I feel so awful w/her being at home alone about 8 1/2 hrs. a day...Just wondered how other "working" moms and dads feel as about this I was thinking about getting another yorkie, but Man, she's a handful to deal with, when I am at home, not to mention the expense of having two...Thanks for any input... | Sometimes another dog can be very good for them. They keep each other company all the time (I find males & females to always get along better) I would get another, personally. Sometimes it makes your current one EASIER. But not ALL the time. Or, you could enroll her in a doggie day care a few times a week?? They have loads of those places around me, leave them there from like 8-5 or whatever.

| I work 8 hrs a day 5 days a week. i felt so bad when tumi was the only dog so I got her a sister. Now I have 3 girls and they keep each other company and they play with each other. they get the free run on our apartment except our bedroom . Our place is puppy proof. They are 100% pee pad trained. I take them to doggie day care couple of days a month also. it's been working out great. i also have doggy cam in my apartment so I can check in on them.

| What has been a blessing to us is our cat, Pepper. She will be a year old next month and she LOVES Ginger. They play together and nap together. When we are gone, Ginger stays in her xpen. Pepper will jump in there and lay on top of her crate while Ginger sleeps inside. The door is left open and sometimes she will even get in crate with her. They definitely keep each other company and it eases my mind too.

♥ Mama's Boy ♥ Donating Member | I hate leaving him, and he will make me feel awful about it too. Every day when I get ready to leave he runs in the bedroom gets on the bed and faces the wall with his ears all the way down and toward the back of his head, with his head hunging down. It makes me feel awful, so before I get home I make sure that I have gotten eveything done that I needed to so that I can be home with him in the evening without leaving him again. He knows how to work it.

| to this day i can't stand leaving bailey. i work 8 hours a day 5 days a week. i drop bailey off at my parents house in the morning because i lived there before i moved in with my boyfriend so bailey's use to being alone there, plus my mom only works til 2, so he's not home alone for as long. it's just a hard situation all around.

| OMG! I had terrible anxiety over this very issue. After I got Bailey, I felt so selfish because I chose to get her and work at the same time. I know several have more than one yorkie to keep each other company during the day - but that's not for us, either. I calmed down after my husband promised to get Bailey out of the expen when he got home (about an hour before me). He takes her out and feeds her. Its their alone time and he LOVES it. Its was a huge relief for me because I can't always get off at 5:00 to let her out. Routine is very important for our babies- Bailey knows and expects our routine just fine. I've read several posts that some have placed web cams or nanny cams to watch 'em during the day - all reported that the babies pretty much sleep, anyway. I hope this post helps.

| I know we all feel so bad about leaving our little ones at home but they just sleep 99% of the time. I check in on my girls about every hour via our security camera and all i see is them sleeping most of the time..
