Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Adoption I filled out an application to adopt out of state today. I don't have my hopes up. One because it's out of state and two because I haven't had my cat to the vet in a long time. She is indoors only and never ill, I don't believe in over medicating or vaccinating. Our Yorkie is up to date all the time because she goes outside and sees other dogs. I only do tick and flea on the cat because the dog could bring them into the house. So...we'll see.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I can't get an answer on their phone just a mesg saying they can't answer now, and no reply to e-mail yet. I don't know how many long distance calls I want to make to hear that and not be able to leave a mesg.

| I am disappointed. Is it rescue? Usually, they are do not adopt to people from other state, unless you come and pick the dog yourself. Anyway, if it rescue/shelter, good luck to you. A few years ago I felt in love with one girl - puppy mill survivor. But she was in Arkansas, and the fly + adoption fee = too expensive as total. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I would get the cat updated if that's all it took. They do adopt out of state I made sure of that before I filled out the application. We would have to do a road trip to get her. She is the same price we paid for our rescue Yorkie that I got just a few miles from our house.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Adoption Update There was good news and bad. After the first lady they chose passed on this little girl, they e-mailed and said I could adopt her. Yes, they adopt out of state but we would have to go get her. The first lady passed on her to adopt another Yorkie that needed PDA surgery. Well, we had some changes here at home in the last few days. Our son in law is being deployed to Iraq and our daughter is moving back home. That is not the problem, the problem is I now have no idea how we will find the time to make the road trip to get her. It's 788 miles one way, and after the first lady passed on her I wondered if we would too once we saw her. So I let them know that I had changed my mind and I hoped the little girl got a great home.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Yes, I wanted Riley in Lacon but couldn't contact anyone there, and now I see he is already gone. In the process I came across a little girl Yorkie in Ohio which is 788 miles from here. We thought of flying with her but there is no airport close to the town where she is.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | For the little girl in Ohio hubby checked and said it would almost cost the same to fly and rent a car as drive all the way. One would just take longer.
