| Do crows attack yorkies? 2 are hanging around my backyard on fence just watching my yorkies. I've scared them away 3 times already. I've never had this problem before noticed them flying around this morning when I was feeding them

| Well, I have seen them take baby rabbits right from my patio and they do chase squirrels so I would be careful...especially if your babies are small. |

Thor's Human Donating Member | Were those definitely crows? I didn't think crows or ravens were birds of prey. The crows here are probably only a foot long, beak to tail tip.

| Yes, definitely crows and it was awful. I tried to chase them away so they would let go but they wouldn't...everytime I saw one in my yard after that I'd do whatever I could to make them go away...I hated them after I saw them take the baby rabbits. They also kill other birds and baby squirrels. The crows or ravens we have here in the Midwest are huge. |

♥ Mama's Boy ♥ Donating Member | I had a dog once that was going after one of the crow's babies and the mama came down and started to peek at my dog, we finally got him inside but the crow started to chase my mom!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I know crows will chase away squirrels that are after their food supply, but the average squirrel is much smaller than a Yorkie. We have a group of big black type of birds that live in a large tree by our house, and they won't come into the yard when Joey out there. At 5 ½ pounds, he scares them. He even scares a much larger Heron. I won't allow him outside alone, because I'm afraid of Hawks, they are definitely birds of prey. Birds will attack in number if one of their young has fallen on the ground, so it's not so much that they want to eat the dog, but are protecting their young.

| I 2nd seeing the crows take away baby rabbits. It was horrible. He came back and cleared out the whole nest before we could even rind the rabbit hole to try to save them. It was in an area of alot of foliage and when we saw him flying from a distance with something in his mouth we figured out it was a rabbit. It was heartbreaking. The momma rabbit was hopping around obviously so stressed. He even came back by and dropped one of the already dead bunnies right by us We tryed chasing him but he flew higher and farther away.

| Yeah they are crows and my furbabies are small from 2.5 lbs to 5 lbs. It was weird one of them looked like he was ready to take my smallest one he was right above him that's when I grabbed a stick and scared it off. They've never done that before now I have to be extra careful when they're outside

| Are you sure they are crows? I don't know if crows attack yorkies. We have hawks here and I have to watch out for them if I take the pups out. I was just at the vets yesterday and was telling him about the hawks and he said be very careful because the hawks will take a yorkie.

| we have tons of crows that gather in our back yard everyday. Our dogs chase them and I haven't had any problems with them going after my dogs. If you are concerned though I would not let the dog go out without your direct supervision.

| Most definately A friend of mine had his Yorkie snatched right out of his yard, just within a few feet of him. There was nothing he could do but watch as it took him. He threw things at it, but it didn't hit him. So be very very careful.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My dtr saw a crow take a baby rabbit one day years ago on her way to school. She was so upset. So if your Yorkie is really small I think they could.

| It's probably a good idea to never let your Yorkie outside my himself. That's the rule that I go by - maybe i'm just an overprotective mommy - but i'm scared to death of the big birds carrying off my Sadie.
