| Help on registration A friend of mine got a 3 month old yorkie girl from the first owner ( the first owner only had this yorkie for a weel and decided to give it up as her other pet a Chihuahua was attacking this yorkie. This friend of mine paid $1000 for this yorkie gal and was told she will mail within a week the AKC reg papers. But what she got in mail was some Purebreed registry papers. And that first owner is no where to be found. To cut the long story short. Is there anyway she can register her yorkie with AKC /CKC or some other good club? Any help is appreciated. |

This is a great example of why people should register the dogs that they have been told are AKC, it's only $20.00, and it helps to eliminate those breeders who are lying to the public. We all have to help stop unethical breeders.

| What proper authorities can you report these breeders to?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I think I would start with the AKC, there is nothing that they can do, but might be able to give you a list of the places to contact. Like I said, there must be something in writing, in ad or something like that. Also the state of AZ has laws concerning consumer freud, you could call a few agencies, and they might be able to lead you in the right direction. I hope you take the time to look into, and let us know. This has come up before, to other members, but I've never had the time to come up with good answers. We need to have a sticky about the steps to take.
