| For those who dress your yorkies... Do you leave them dressed all the time or just when you're with them? It's been so cold that I've left mine dressed while I'm at work but I worry about the safety of it. Also, do you cut their hair short or does anyone leave it long with clothes? Chelsea's hair grows so slowly and doesn't mat much even in clothes. But Murphy has the most beautiful dark hair that doesn't mat unless I dress him and then it's awful. I really don't want to cut his hair but I also love to see him dressed up in cute little outfits. Any advice?

| Rarely have I left clothes on unsupervised. I just worry too much about them getting hung up on something or getting tangled in the clothes if they try to pull them off. Usually if it really cold and I'm going to be out of the house I'll just leave several extra blankets out for them to snuggle in.

| I don't leave clothes on my girls when I am not with them. My girls have full, floor length coats, and I just have their dresses, made with satin lining, to prevent matting. DD of Yorkie Fantasy: Small Dog Clothes Shop could make Murphy some cute clothes and line them with satin. Sheila |

| in the winter Layla has clothes on all the time- when we are home or not- but they aren't anything fancy- usually just a sweatshirt- I always worry that should the power go out or something (due to ice or snow) that she would get cold quickly if I wasnt able to get home- i know- probably NEVER going to happen This is what she is wearing today- minus the christmas bow I'm leaving shortly and will be gone for about 4 hours and she will be in it until I get home- she doens't do much while we are out- just lays on the stairs and naps so i've never been concerned about safety . |

| I dress them here and there...jammies are worn a lot in the winter...but they do get matted from their clothes....In the summer they wear sundresses if we take them somewhere...

| I never leave clothes on Onni unsupervised. I am always concerned about her getting tangled up in them.

| I leave clothes on my girls while Im gone(usually no more than 3 hours otherwise they will be dropped off at daycare), usually a simple tshirt or pjs. and I leave them in a plastic playpen with bed/blanket, food and water. so there is really nothing around to be tangled!

Layla is just beautiful! Do you keep her hair short? Does she mat up very much? I think my four play hard while I'm at work, and use their pet door all the time, which is why I worry about the clothing getting caught up on something when I'm not around.

| I have boys so they aren't fancy. When it's cold Clarence wears his red johnny suit 24/7. Hubby hates it but he needs to be warm! Keegan....well he's our "runs with scissors" boy! |

I have gotten good advice here. It's just not worth the risk to leave them dressed when I'm at work for hours at a time. I think we'll just go nekkid from now on and I'll leave extra blankies out for them. Everyone, thank you for your replies!
