| Need some advice hello. we have a 3 and a half year old french bulldog. he has a very strong personality. we were out last weekend and ended up adopting a yorkie mix dog. we are not sure how old he is but we were told he is possibly between 1 and 5. they dont seem to be warming up to eachother that well, but it has only been a week. Dash, our new yorkie barks alot and has been peeing in the apartment and even on our couch. Today he actually showed his teeth at my boyfriend and did it a few times. does anyone have any advice? could it be possible they will never be friends . we just want them both to be happy. |

| Welcome to YT. Are the dogs neutered? If not, this may help. It takes time. Give it at least one month.

| Get them outside in a open area frequently. Let them associate with each other naturally, i.e., don't force the situation & be patient. Set one month as a goal for socialization. Take them for walks together. You should get a urinalysis for Dash to check for a urinary tract infection. Probably behavioral though. A belly band might help.

| I would definately consider belly bands for his potty issues....and like others have said taking them on walks together is one of the easiest ways for dogs to get to know each other....and realize that YOU are pack leader...not the "bulldog"...or the newest pack member..... And it will definately take time....a week is not enough...GOOD LUCK!!!
