Gus & I will be together for 1 year on March 7th.

We took our first real (long) walk today. It felt good.

The problem was that Gus did not want to go for walks. He would get to the end of the driveway, and put on the "brakes". I would carry him away from the house, & then he'd walk back. Imagine this going on 3 to 4 times per day for a year. I wonder what my neighbors thought even though I explained it to them.

The breakthrough came unintentionally due to my DW. I am the dog person, & she is not, e.g., she never walks the dogs. However, a couple of weeks ago she surprised me by asking where their leashes were. I told her that she could not walk the two of them together. She said that she could, & she did with out any resistance. She repeated this several more times, & now Gus walks with me
