| Hey, That's My Yorkie! I had a interesting , and a bit disturbing experience last night in Petsmart. I took my Suzi to have her nails trimmed and whiskers snipped . No Big deal. But, we had to wait our turn. So I let Suzi on her harness and leash go exploring . She is little miss friendly and quite the social butterfly towards everybody. Everybody had to ooooh and ahhh over her , so she was getting so much attention. Well there were a bunch of people coming over to her, to look at her and pet her, then I just happen to turn my head, and right next to me a woman was taken My Suzi's picture on her cell phone ! HUH? WTF? that to me was not cool. taking pictures of someone's dog? My Suzi! She does not know me, A stranger! Ummm now what the heck is she going to do? Myspace? PLace my girl anywhere on the internet? Tell people that is her yorkie? As soon as i saw her doing that , I believe she quit, but not so certain. HAs this ever happened to anybody? I also got the comment from my neighbor yesterday pm , That my Suzi looks like a rat... AHHH yes the famous Yorkie rat remark... I chuckled and said to her, you should see her all wet! Whatever, that did not bother me as much as strangers taking pictures of my Suzi

Thor's Human Donating Member | People take pictures of Thor all the time. Granted, I walk him in a touristy area, and ASFAIK, people always ask first. My guess is that the girl just sent a pic to her friends saying, look at how cute this dog is. It's always nicer if people ask first, though. Sometimes people pick Thor up without asking, which I find a bit presumptuous. What if he was a biter??

YES, that happened to me last weekend at a busy park near our home. I didn't notice, but my hubby did. He said, "Hey, someone's taking a picture of your dog". I turned and looked, and sure enough! There was a man and a woman with a fancy lookin' camera snapping several pictures from a few feet away. I gave him a glare, and he stopped...but I still wonder what he wanted pics of Missy for. I think people should ask first.

| I get it all the time with Garrett. I even had a grandmother take a photo of her 3 year old granddaughter hugging him. I don't mind because he's micro chipped, and has tags. Usually it's just that people are amazed to see such a huge, fluffy white dog. Is your pup microchipped?

| Happens to us all the time too. People constantly grabbing at Curly or taking her pic. No surprise to me though. I have perfect strangers on the street grab MY hair and tug on it asking if it's real! Of course it is! But what if it wasn't? And YOU grabbed it. Idiots! It's like when you're pregnant and everyone helps themselves to a rub of your belly. WTF is that??? Don't freaking touch me! No you can't touch my baby either and don't even LOOK at my dog! Geez, the nerve! |

| I agree. Boundries people boundries. What if they saw a cute kid? Would they stop to take a picture. Go away it's not a freak show. Can't even enjoy a little outing without people hovering. Go away. Just say he bites people will go away.

| Ok, Im a photographer. and I could NOT imagine taking pictures of someone's dog. I have taking pictures of people playing with animals at the dog park, but always from far away, and usually where you cant recognize the dog or person. But to just walk up and take pictures of your dog, thats rude! |

| As far as I know no one has ever taken a photo of Violet, but someone did pick her up once without asking, which I thought was RUDE. I was terrified, too, that she'd drop Violet - she had no idea how squirmy she can be!

| Do you mean you let her go exploring all on her own with you not hold of the lead? or were you holding it? Someone could have easily taken her as they could have taken a picture. Last edited by Sugar's Mom; 03-01-2009 at 07:31 AM. |
