| Tail Docked or Not?? Has your furbaby got a docked tail? I bought Tink with a full tail - she looks a beauty with it! I know it is necessary for some country's breed standards, but I think they look so much better with a full tail!!! xXx

| I have one of each. My Bella has her long pretty tail because I bought her in Germany and it is against the law here to dock tails or crop ears. Then I flew back to the states and bought Winston and his is docked. I like it both ways! |

| I often wondered what our little one would have looked like with an undocked tail. She was cute the way she was but I prefer the full tail look better. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | My Yorkie was a rescue with the tail already docked. If it were up to me I'd have left her tail long.

| Teiya's is docked. I bought her that way. Not sure I would have done it if given the option. I've never seen one full. I have to wonder, if they're born with a full tail, why do they dock them? I want to see pictures of the full tail.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I never liked the idea of cropping ears and tails but it's been done a long time.

| I have one of each. I love the full tail but I think little Mo's stub is cute when he wags it. If I ever bred yorkies (which I have no intention of doing) I would most likely leave them full.

| I wish the standards would change here in america. It's cruel to dock tails and crop ears in my opinion. Yorkies look cuter with their happy little undocked tails wagging away. I have a maltese/yorkie and his tail is undocked and beautiful. |

they dock them because its the breed standard. Yorkies tails have to be docked to be shown in the U.S I personally like the docked tail, however if you are buying a yorkie for a pet and not to show I think it should be your choice as too whether not to dock the tail if you had your pup picked out ahead of time. I know that most people buy yorkie's after the time frame of tail docking though. I knew I was getting a pup from the litter I got Tucker from, I had the choice to have his tail docked.
