Fur growth Just wondering when a Yorkie starts to get long fur? My puppy is 6 months old and it seems her fur has not grown any in the past 2-1/2 months. Should I be worried about this.

I would love to know the answer to this question too - my Yorkie is nearly one and her fur doesn't seem to be 'that' long really, average, not long though. I reckon as they mature, they will fill out and start the fur growth, but I don't know to be honest, I'm still waiting!!! xXx Last edited by x-tinkerbelle-x; 02-19-2009 at 10:47 AM.

I'm just curious because I brush her every night and I see quite a bit of fur in the brush!

aww wish my Yorkie would grow that fast. Suppose it depends on their genes too - both Tink's parents weren't really 'long' in the fur department either xXx

We keep our lil Maddie's hair cut short like a puppy cut....I have to have her groomed every 5 weeks or it becomes matted, even though I brush her all the time. She is only 2.7 lbs.....8 1/2 months old...so it cracks me up when its about that 5 week mark and one of the little girls in my child care says "Maddie looks chubby!" (because she turns into a big furball) haha. This picture is a lil dark but its a pic of her right after her Valentine's Spa Day! =]
