| Welcome to YT!!! I feel you about going nuts! My baby is only 2 weeks old and I have a whole lot of time to wait and go crazy! I am a novice at Yorkies, but I have been doing my research. According to the Yorkie growth chart, your baby should weight 2.5-3lbs full grown. This is definitely a teeny tiny baby. Your breeder should have all test results and a vet card with shot records to give you. Here is some info about vaccines that I found online: Puppies (6 weeks to 1 year) 6 – 8 weeks………. first puppy shot (DHLPP) + Corona 11 –12 weeks……. second puppy shot (DHLPP) + Corona 15-16 weeks……… third puppy shot (DHLPP) + Corona over 4 months…… Rabies ( repeat 1 year later) 7-9 months……… first heartworm test Adult Dogs (after 1 year) DHLPP…… Yearly Heartworm Test……Yearly Rabies……. Every three years (after 2 nd shot) Bordatella….. Yearly I hope this information helps! |

| I'd ask your vet if they can give DHPP instead of the vaccine that also includes lepto and corona. Many small dogs have strong adverse reactions to the lepto portion of the combo vaccine, and AAHA has stated that corona vaccines are not necessary.

| Lepto and corona are not recommended vaccines. Do not give a combo vaccine that includes anything more than DHPP. I'm assuming your puppy is 10 or 11 weeks now. I would give another set oh dhpp at 14 weeks and 17 or 18 weeks. Because of your babys size I would especially recommend that you wait and give rabies closer to 6 months of age. Do not give rabies with any other vaccine. Finally I don't vaccinate for bordetella but if you will be taking your dog to the groomed or a boarding facility you might consider it. I definitely reccomend having your puppy bile acid tested. Liver shunt is very common in yorkies and is seen more frequently in tinies as liver shunt often causes failure to grow. I feel like every yorkie should be bile acid tested as a puppy. It is a safe and inexpensive test.

| Thank you for the vaccine information. I just reposted something I found online... thanks for the updated information. As a future yorkie owner, I was wondering is a bile acid test something that should be done by the breeder? Or is it something that should be my responsibility? Thanks! |

Congrats on your impending arrival. The waiting is the hardest part, isn't it? The advice you've gotten here is good advice for the questions you asked. And honestly if you post something between 12:30 and 2:00 in the morning you probably aren't going to get a lot of responses during that time. Most of us are snuggled down cozy in our beds with our babies during that time. But wait until a little later this morning, I bet you'll get some more input. And if you have any more specific questions, please ask - we are always happy to share our advice and experiences.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome!! How exciting to be getting your baby. Reputable breeders generally keep their puppies until 12 weeks so that's good. I'm not sure on the puppy shots. As fas as weight, a lot depends on the weight of the parents and past generations in the line. If I were to take a guess I would say between 4 and 5 lbs.

All three rounds. He won't be protected well after only one shot.

| I would be afraid that this baby might be quite sickly these smaller dogs a lot of times have health problems. I know its had to think of doing tests on such a tiny one, but I would have your vet do a bile acid test, and then you would know if you have a fairly healthy dog. I would be suspicious of the breeder for not vaccinating. |
