They really get a kick out of her. Some were pure blood lines the rest were "Domestic Short Haired Waggers" that just appeared from who knows where. They were all welcome and cared for.

Hi everyone!!

Really quick~ I just want to thank everyone for all of their support and well wishes yesterday! It helped to keep forging ahead through all of that really horrible weather in Indiana to get our little man. I had a very long day yesterday. Today I am off first thing in the morning for a job interview so everyone wish me luck for my interview this afternoon. When I get home this afternoon, I will be taking Truman to the vet. He is horribly thin, matted and just a sad little guy. When I get in this afternoon after the vet I will update my trip, tell you all what the vet has said and be able to finally relax a little! This has been a really crazy few days but everyone can be sure that Truman is safe and will soon look like the beautiful pup that I know is under all of those mats and filth!

Check back late this afternoon for an update on my little man. Now I gotta run BBL!!!!!

Concerns about the degree of masculinity and femininity are pretty much urban afflictions.

I dunno....I raised a young man who will wear pink shirts and has a yorkie that he adopted from me. He is your size, too! His mom came from the farm (southern IL), but he was raised in an urban area.
So....it is possible even there!
I think it is more about self assurance!

Glad your trip was a safe and successful one.
Good luck with the job interview. Finger's crossed it is what
your looking for and get hired.
Wishing Turman good luck with his vet visit too. Can't wait
to see updated pictures of this little one.
Bless you for all you went through in getting him to your home
safe and sound.

I wish I would have seen your email. I could have really used your wonderful assistance.

Nancy1999 suggested that we start a yorkie train club since I know if I could have got the work out a little better I would have had more volunteers. These type of things sometimes happen so fast that there just isn't time to wait for people to check in to YT. We all have very busy lives.

You are a sweetheart! Thank you for wanting to help out with Truman's care. It is wasn't for donors like yourself Yorkie Haven would not be able to safe these little guys. You are a real friend

I wish there were more I can do for him.

Let us know his sizes when you get him. If he has to be shaved down he will need some sweaters for that Windy City weather!

Oh Megan thank you so much for wanting to help with our little man. When he is fully nursed back to help we will be a Teapot for sure. Right now he is just skin and bones. Once he is feeling well enough for a good grooming he will need a little sweater for sure. Thank you!

Megansmomma you are wonderful! You are on my Christmas list!

You sound like such a wonderful man I would have loved for my son Drew, Truman and myself to have met you in person. I have a smile on my face just thinking about you and your little lady at the tractor dealership. I don't know who wouldn't love that.

As for everyone else, thank you for all of your support on my letting journey to bring Truman home. I have a vet appointment in 2.5 hours and as soon as I know something I will let everyone know.

I sent LadyJane pictures to put up on the Haven website and also a little video. I'm not sure of the quality of the video but the picture actually is of his cute little face.

He is a very sweet and gently little man. I really liked the name Truman because of how things are playing out about him on line~kinda like the movie The Truman Show with Jim Carrey--for all the world to see.

I will report back in a few hours when I know more from the vet visit.

Default Update!!!!!!

Truman was at the vet and had a very through exam. I guess I will just make a list of what I was told:

1. He's somewhere around 10 yrs old and weighs in at exactly 12 lbs. The vet said he could use 5 lbs on him bones to get to a healthy weight. How's that for a TEAPOT Yorkpoo! But he is still a whole lotta Yorkie to love.

2. He has a cataract in his left eye and the start of one in his right. But he does believe that he still has vision in the right side.

3. The coughing is a very severe respiratory infection that is most likely cause by the infections in his teeth and left ear. He is now on a very strong antibiotic and cough medicine. It is believed that he has had these infections for a very long time.

4. His blood work will be back tomorrow but his heart sounded very good so he didn't think heartworm would be an issue.

5. Once we can get him well he can have a dental and be neutered. But that might be several weeks at this point.

6. The vet believes that he walks on his toes because of arthritis in his hips and also possibly a problem with his lower spine. Maybe a bad disk or two but he did not do Xrays to confirm. He wants to wait for the blood work to come back tomorrow so that he can address any other issues. One step at a time. On the upside of this issue, since I have had him he does seem to be getting around a little better.

7. Due to his very poor nutrition his skin is sloughing off on his back. But with good food, grooming and lots of TLC this will go away in time.

8. He got a bang trimming at the vets for now you can see his eyes. But that's nothing compared to what I did after his bath when I brought him home

Truman was such a good boy through everything today. He made his foster mommy very proud He has a second bath tonight because he is still a very stinky little man. After his bath I started trimming his mats away and OMG there is a Yorkie under all that mess and a very cute one at that!

He was one continuous mat all over his body so little by little there was just one giant ball of hair and an almost bald Truman. He must have really likes being released from that mess because he stood for over an hour as I clipped little by little. It might not be pretty but I knew he needed it because I couldn't get the shampoo onto his skin to get him clean. He's now exhausted and sleeping in my son's room under quarantine. I'm still keeping him separated from my three until all the test results come back tomorrow.

Little does my little man know but now that most of the mats are gone he will be getting ANOTHER bath tomorrow for a very through scrubbing! No stinky doggies in my house As soon as he is well enough he will be visiting my groomer for a real dooo instead of his current DONT!

Maybe tomorrow Truman will be able to meet his step sister Pebbles and his two step brothers Doodlebug and Bogey.

I have a few updated pictures of Truman. He is really looking better and better. He was so matted from lack of care that I decided to clip some one the mats until he was feeling well enough to visit my groomer. Let's just say he now has a new hairdon't! But I can tell he feels so much better!

I just got a call from the vet and looks like other than the infections all of his blood work came back excellent! All he needs now is lots of good food and he will be going for a dental and neuter March 10th!

After getting all of those matts of & his bangs cut...I bet he feels like a million bucks!
He looks tall. Have you told him about the next bath yet? 5 POUNDS! I wish someone would tell me I'm about 30% underweight!
Has he met the other kids yet? i hope they get along.
