yes..I saw this too tonight..so very tragic..my heart goes out to that family..especially the grandmother..she will never forgive herself or get over it..any breed of dog should never be left alone with small children..however trustworthy you think your dog is...and more bad press for the usually loving and loyal Staffy

...I have one myself.

The post mortem showed horrific injuries What possessed anyone to leave a child unsurpervised with dogs.

It was late at night, so did gran fall sleep leaving baby?. Too horrific to think about.

This is an absolute horrible thing that has happened

But everybody MUST understand that dogs are not humans
they are animals ....
and that they will go by what comes natural to them

When a dog is confronted by a small animal .....
it's instinct is to kill
I am in NO WAY excusing what has happened but a baby should never ever be placed within any dogs reach

That poor little baby boy. Oh my goodness, I am almost in tears as I read this. Where was this baby left? On the floor?!?! I cannot remember EVER leaving my daughter on the floor with my mom's boxer alone ever. I was just too scared of her snapping and something like this happening. Even now I get worried still. Dogs are dogs but still they did the right thing by putting them to sleep.
