YorkieTalk Newbie! | Help Hello I am new to the site and I wanted to know if anyone could shed some light on my concerns with my Yorkie. I am having problems with my Liberty she is 4 1/2 and we just moved to a new state and all of a sudden, liberty now will pee's on the floors instead of the wee wee pad. I don't know what to do, we have been here for 6 months now could something be wrong with her? |

| Is she peeing a lot more frequently now than before you moved? Has she been doing this for 6 months, or did it start recently?

| She's either taking the move harder then you thought or she may have a UTI. How long were you with her in your old place.

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Help Liberty has been with me since she was 13wks. This has been going on about two weeks now. She will go on her wee wee pad, I hope she is just stressed about the move and is acting out and not a UTI |

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Help Thanks for the reply,Liberty has been with me since she was 13wks. This has been going on about two weeks now. I don't believe she is going more often than usual. I hope she is just stressed about the move and this is her way of acting out and not a UTI. She will still use her wee wee pad and everyonce in a while out of the blue she will pee on the floor. |

| Could it be that the new place had dogs and they wee wee in the house and she's just being typical and smelling it. Clean with urine out or something of that sort everywhere and see what happens then???? |

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Help It is possible since this is a pet friendly apartment complex. I had got some pet odor and stain remover and I spray it on the spots where she pee at now. Should I spray this all over the carpet to see if this works? I will also make an appointment with the vet to make sure there is no problem with her Last edited by lhunt11; 01-24-2009 at 04:56 PM. |

There is also a great product called Odo Ban - you can buy it at Walmart. http://cleancontrol.com/OdoBanRetail..._Products.html - I really like this product, - I was gone for a few days and my cat apparently was mad and went outside her litter box and Odo Ban even got rid of the cat urine smell - which is a lot worse than dog Or you could try Nature's Miracle. But I would still make a vet appt. - I would be concerned about her health, especially if she is going more than normal

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Help I am sure they did clean the carpet before I moved in. I was just thinking is it possible that she is acting out for whatever reason, I noticed that every time I leave out to go to work in the morning she tries to run out the door and a few time I have to chase her down the hallway. As soon as I put on my coat she get hyper and she goes to the closet or sits by the door. |

| Just because they cleaned the carpet doesn't mean the smell is out of it. They need to use a special shampoo to remove the smell of left over urine. Hope you can figure out what is going on.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Yes, I agree with this, if they just used regular cleaner it doesn't remove the protein that is left in urine, stain might be gone, but dog can still smell the protein and will return to that sport. You can get some Natures Miracle, and spray any new spots, they even sell a black light that turns these body fluid stains bright white. Spray thoroughly and let dry naturally, these enzyme cleaners have special bacteria, or enzymes, that actually eat the protein, but this takes time.

| I tend to agree with you about the stress of the moving. Are there many different sounds (traffic, neighbors, pets) than where you came from. Also if you are under a lot of stress, she will pick that up from you and she may see this move as a bad thing. I'm not saying the vet visit is not a good idea, but you probably need to work hard at relaxing and making her feel secure in her now environment. Just my 2 cents! |
