| A silk coat is thinner, lighter, cool to the touch, a comb glides thru it. a cotton coat or soft coat is thicker warmer to the touch and matts A silk coat is the desired coat I dont know about a breeder that prices according to size though

I am learning about the diferrences too. Does the silk coat then ever mat? I believe that Suzi has a silk coat, it is thin, cool to the touch. However does Matt sometimes underneath. Still a silk coat?

| Sounds like a silk. They can still matt but not badly like a cotton coat

thank you... yeah, this breeder is a little sketchy sounding to me she also has 4 females that are having babies close to each other (i dont know if this is common, but isn't that a lot of puppies? she is ckc registered (Canadian) and she shows her dogs.. but this is how she breaks down the dog prices Our babies run like this. Soft coat male that is going to be 7lbs or over $1000.00 Soft coat male tht is going to be 5-6 lbs $1300.00 Soft coat male that is going to be 4.5 - 5 lbs $1500.00 Soft coat male that is going to be under 4.5 lbs $1800.00 Breed standard silk coat 7lbs or over $1300.00 Breed standard silk coat 5-6 lbs $1600.00 Breed standard silk coat 4.5 -5 lbs $1800.00 Tiny silky boys are discussed in person with anyone hoping to have a tiny tiny baby full grown i believe mickey has silky coat, i have no clue.... his hair never matted after he grew out of his puppy phase... i really like mickey's hair i dont remember if they're cool to the touch but its very smooth | |

| How would she know the exact size of her puppy or the coat it will have before it's 12wks old? Buddy is a silky coated Yorkie. He gets tiny knots under the arm pits mostly when his coat is longer. Once in awhile on the top of his head as well. |

Sorry but I think this breeder is pulling your chain. There really isn't any way to determine the size of the pup. I knew a lady that bought a brother and a sister from a breeder and the male ended up weighing 12 lbs and the female ended up weighing 6 lbs. There were from the exact litter. I only paid $100 for my full blood yorkie and he already weighs 16 lbs. He'll be one year old tomorrow. I would look into this a little more if I was you. By the way, I wouldn't trade my Jack for anything. He's my spoiled rotten boy.

| At what age should you be able to tell what type of coat your puppy has? If my puppy at 20 weeks matted a lot does that mean she is a cotton coat? |

Something just doesn't sound right here. There is no way to predict the grown weight on these puppies. I mean, you can guess if you know your lines really well, but you never can be sure. I think this person is taking a huge step in the wrong direction by quoting prices on the future size of puppies. You just can never tell! I wouldn't trust her.

| this person is not a good breeder in my opinion... it sounds like a set up for a dishonest sale ... if u love Mickey so very much why not go back to his breeder to get another one Thats what i would do |
