| X-pen woes andd Help??? We have an x-pen that we put the babies in when we leave. Well, we would get home and they would greet us at the door! I was confused, and thought that maybe we just didn't get the sides pushed together enough or something?? So, we started to put them in the bathroom, but theres no vent in there so it gets cold. We left the door open and put the pen up in front of the door as a gate. I tested it and wedged it in there so there was no way to budge it at all. Well, came home about an hour later and there the babies were at the door!! So, I came up with a plan to watch them...They climb over the top of the tall pen!! I was shocked! I'm not sure at all how to fix them problem! Help???? |

| Couldn't you get a taller one? Or do you think they'd climb over that too?

| Some ex-pens have tops you can buy for them. That should solve the problem! But...no guarantees.

| My Brandi knows how to get out of her crate. She knows how to unlatch it and get out. I went through the same thing you did. I put Brandi in her crate only to return home with her waiting for me at the front door. At first I thought maybe I didnt close it all the way. Well after the third time, I knew she knew how to get out. It takes her all of 5 minutes. I watched her too. She only does this when I am not at home. If I put her in her crate at night and I hear her trying to get out I just tell her no and she stops. I was thinking of getting an expen but I also had concerns with her escaping that too. So for now I just put her in the bathroom whenever I leave. Fortunately it does have a vent. I'm at a lost too. But the bathroom does seem to be working out. I just put her potty pads (which she doesn't always use), her food, bed and blanket in there with her. I don't like her being in there but she's not fully house trained as of yet. She has way to many accidents. |

| Maybe I should try one with a top. I know it doesn't matter how tall I buy one, they would just climb over it. Its pretty funny to see it becuase they look like little people using their front and back legs to climb right over it! If I leave them in the bathroom, the one with the top wouldn't wouldn't help very much. Maybe I could get it and keep them in there. Thanks!! |

| Cimbing puppies Is there a way to temporarily replace the bathroom door with a cheap screened one ? That way there is air flow and a door to keep them in. As to the X pen, mine has at least 8 inches between the horizontal rungs. My dog never learned to climb. Perhaps a heavy top made with wooden boards and screening placed over the top of the X pen might keep them in. They also need something to keep them occupied while they are in there. Nice tastey hard chewy bones. Maybe a squirt gun and a sharp "No" or "AAATT" while they are climbing the pen walls might put a kink in their getaway plans |
