When I thought it couldn't get worse I live in a really nice mobile home park. I own my home and rent the lot. I've been here 22 years. It was -37* yesterday morning and I had a pipe burst. I had no option but to call the park owners to turn off the water. It was then that they told me that I signed an agreement to not have animals. I don't remember it. Lots of people up here have pets so I'm clueless. I have a 15 year old high functioning autistic son. I got Lola for him as he has a service dog at school. He feeds her, takes her out, helps with grooming etc. It teaches him responsibility. Not to mention it forces interaction. We all know the therapeutic value of a pet. He just adores her. His teacher and behavior specialist have both contacted my landlord and asked them to reconsider. For now I can keep her but I have to show proof of license, spay. shots, insurance, all kinds of stuff. I can keep her pending them contacting their attorney regarding liability issues. Ridiculous. It's not like she's a rotty/pitbull. She goes out for less than a minute to do her business. SHE'S AN INSIDE DOG!! So...for now we're safe. I just need to ride it out and see how it plays out. Keep us in your prayers! Sheila

Sorry for your trouble. It sounds unreasonable if you own your own home. I hope you get a satisfactory resolution soon.

If she is used as a therapy pup then she isnt really a pet right? I mean there shouldn't be a problem. he couldn't tell a blind person they can't have a seeing eye dog.

I think that is absolutely terrible. How can they possibly think a little Yorkie who is helping your son in a wonderful way be of some threat!!!! You own your home so you should be able to a pet. I pray that everything will come out on top for you and your son and also for Lola. Keep all of us updated on the outcome. Mom of Lily & Dahlia

| Have you talked to any of the other pet owners to see if they have those rules as well? Sounds odd to me that it wasn't till your pipes broke that they are all up in arms.

Precisely! My neighbor has 3 cats. She's terrified that she'll be next. She doesn't recall signing anything either but who knows??!!

Please do not judge other dogs based on their breed. My parents have two Rottweilers -- they are absolutely wonderful dogs. I believe it is all in the owner, not the dog!! I hope you get your situation sorted out, good luck.

Oh please, I'm not doing that at all. My sister owns a rotty. However, they are a breed that is on most insurance company's no no lists. Didn't mean to offend. That was my only point.
