| When do they stop growing??? My little angel is 5 months and is 2.8 poundsshe is soooo tiny!Who ever sees her is in shock!...lol.. Anyhow, her breeder told me that the big majority of their growth stops when they are 6 month, what is your experience??? Do they pretty much stop changing after 6 months, besides their hair color? Also, Cherry seems to be growing very slowly ever since she came, their is not big change in her size, is this normal for yorkies as well? Thank You Guys and Have A Wonderful Night!!! Last edited by ilovecherry86; 01-09-2009 at 03:27 PM. |

| I was wondering the same thing. My girl isn't as tiny as yours--she's 6 months and 5 pounds--but I was wondering at which point do they stop growing up and when do they stop gaining weight? Mine is also part Silky Terrier so they tend to get bigger than Yorkies. I guess I'm just curious as to what side she takes after...

| Generally speaking, growth slows down around 6-8 months and stops around 1 year or a little bit after. That being said, some stop completely at 6 months and some keep growing until 2 years! It just depends on the dog. Franklin has pretty much stopped and he's a little over 1 year.

| I just took my Trixie to the vet today. (shots) and she gained 2 pounds in a month. She is now 7 pounds. She's only 4mo old. I think maybe a teapot !! She doesn't look chubby just long and tall. Well taller than my shrimpo, Coco. And my Pebbles is 10mo. and a tiny little thing. I have to weigh her but I'm guessing maybe 3-4 lbs. | Baron changed colors @ 8 months. He was Blk./Tan and is now Blue/Tan. He stopped growing height wise @ 8 months and his weight has not changed in pounds since 10 months. He's stayed @ 7 pounds for 2 months now. The only thing changing That I've really noticed is his chest and face have filled out. He looks older to me. He still acts like a puppy though!!!

| Usually around 6 mos. although some will grow maybe a little more. My male biewer was 5 1/2 mos when I got him and 4 1/2 lbs he's now 3 1/2 years and weighs right under 6 lbs. My other little biewer(female) was 1 1/2 lbs when I got her at 5 1/2 mos. she's now 7 mos and 2 lbs. I could tell she had gotten a little bigger by the way her little dress fit her. She still walks out of it, but, not as quickly as she used too. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | When we brought beatrice home she was 9 months old and weighed 2.8 lbs. She's 15 months old and weighs 3.2 lbs. now She's been this weight since she was 12 months old ,so I'm assuming she's done growing. |

| JoJo was the runt of the litter and at 12 weeks weighed less than 1 1/2 lbs. At 6 months he weighed less than 2 1/2 lbs and then he started to grow about 7 months. He weighs a little over 4 lbs now at 13 months and his chest has filled out. I'm so glad he has gotten this big because he doesn't seem so fragile. You can never tell about these little babies. They keep you guessing about their size and color. He has kept his color of black and tan for the most part but he has a lot of silver color underneath. |

| my ollie stopped growing right around 6 months... he lost his puppy belly and gained lots of muscle on his "haunches" as my husband calls it... I think that after about 8 months they are pretty much the size they will be for the rest of their lives |
