| GPS for dogs? Does anybody know of a company that manufactures GPS microchips for dogs? Just last week a dog has been stolen right out of his yard in my area and I feel that regular microchips are pretty much useless in a case of theft. GPS collars are available online but can and will be removed by the thief. The technology and the demand are out there. But where is the product to keep my dogs safe?

| Funny that you mention this. My husband - the computer programmer guru has been playing around with GPS devices and writing tracking software. We have not been able to find a GPS device that is small enough to work as an injectible, Because the chips poll the satellites for navigation they take a lot of energy and their power sources are too large for injection. Even the collars offered for hunting dogs with GPS are way too large for our Yorkies and like you said if someone steals a dog they will remove any device that appears to be made for tracking. Please wish us luck because as soon as we find GPS devices small enough to work Ron is going to be offering something pretty incredible! |
