| Does your yorkie "smile"? Hi everyone! I am new to this site, and I was wondering if anyone has a yorkie who snores, or bares their teeth, in a happy tail wagging way. I have a boy, (Chuckie) who snores, and a girl, (Candy) who does this weird, happy-excited smiling thing. I am absolutly positive it is not aggressive teeth baring. Plus she does this when I first get home, and she only does it to me. Am I the only one with a yorkie like this? -Chuckie and Candy's Mamma |

| My Howie does this too!! I can't pinpoint when exactly he started it. I don't remember him smiling as a puppy. I wondered how he learned to do that and then I visited his mom one day and she does it too. It's so cute, and it's my favorite part of coming home. |

| Dogs don't smile ..... They don't have the muscles for it But what you might be seeing is when a dog is excited everything tenses up when they get into a frenzy and you might be seeing this tensing around their mouths

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | This picture of Joey always looked like he was smiling to me, especially since the eyes look squinty as well.

We think Turk always looks like he's smirking/grinning, but it's only because of his coloring on his face and beard. It always cracks me up when he just sits and stares at me...a real 'cat that ate the canary' look.

| General Lee smirks and grins especially when he is daring you to chase him or catch him. |

He does!! It's so cute!! And he usually has to be jumping on his hind legs as he "smiles" too. It's the only time I've ever seen him bare his teeth, and yet it doesn't look scary like a yorkie that is baring their teeth as a warning, like my MIL's yorkie does. If I ask him for "smiles" he tries really hard and you can see the muscles tensing up on the corners, but he doesn't quite get the teeth showing on demand. -Becky
