| Eek! Help! Since I have been real busy lately working a full-time job, my boyfriend's mom has been bathing Fred when she's at home during lunch time. His hair has gotten beyond nappy! We took him the the Vet the other week to check up on his little "bald spot" that just won't go away (which the Vet said to wait a few more weeks and bring him back. It might just be a bald spot and not ringworm because he's not itching it) and a lady with a white poodle looks at Fred and says "Aww, is he having a bad hair day?". I felt so horrible! His hair is like that everyday. His coat is not shiny at all. It's VERY nappy. I don't think my boyfriend's mom brushes him as much as she should. By the time I get to his house, I brush him but his coat already dried so it stays the way it was. It has gotten worse! It's somewhat curly at the ends and doesn't lay down flat. His roots grow flat but when it gets longer, it starts to curl up! Eeeeek! Is there something I could do to make it pretty like everyone else's babies coats? My poor baby. I also got pictures of him! I will post them when I get back to my boyfriends house tomorrow. |

| Chachi has a cotton coat that curls up. His hair looks alot better since I started using Chris Christensen products. I also comb his hair through when I have the conditioner on during his bath. That takes out all the curls and the matts.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | honey - the best thing I can say is try to brush him when you're with him ..they can get like that so fast it amazes me ...Does he go outside alot ? I used to use Johnsons No More Tangles for Chanel when she was little and brush her WHILE she was wet to get knots out though it's not advised to do on wet hair. The other thing is maybe get him a puppy cut and make it easy on you and his babysitter...funny saying that...but it would really cut down on grooming time and they love being short haired too. I keep thinking of cutting Chanels hair cause I just can't keep up lately so I know how you are feeling. for the curly kind of hair - I use Plush Puppy Reviva coat - that makes their hair lay flatter too. The thing I do with Chanels thick hair too is use a dematting comb to thin it out - it really really helps but she has lots of hair ...after I get out the fluff hair it lays much flatter. Those dematting combs look like little rakes and you have to be really careful and not touch the skin with it. Chanel loves me thinning her hair - she sits like a happy little monkey getting a back scratch from mom when I do it.

| I really do have to try CC systems! Jeez. You should be a spokesperson for them, Vilette! Haha We've been using that PurePaws shampoo and conditioner. At first, it was working great. And now, it just looks normal again. Thanks for the advice guys! |

| Hefner has a cotton coat and I am considering shaving him. My daughter had Buddha shaved and he is sooo cute and tiny. She puts shirts on him and he is adorable. Maybe Fred would look cut cut cloer too. Can't wait to see the pictures! |

| How short should I cut him? Should I ask for a "puppy cut"? Lately, I've been just trimming him myself but I'm too scared to trim too close to his ears or too close to his little "weenie" I'll probably take him to the groomer's this weekend to get everything trimmed up and I might just take your advice and shave him. |

| Natalie, I havent use the CC system but I heard it works wonders. I use the Mane n tail shampoo and tresseme or suave conditioner on Gucci; SO far her hair feels very soft and pretty. Regarding Fred, I agreed with Villette maybe a puppy cut it will be easier on all of you to take care off. Also he might need a good conditioner. It will be a good idea when you are home with him to brush his hair using a leave in conditioner. That also will work as quality time with him. Good luck. Please let us know how the CC system works on him if you decide to use it. |

| If it's too late and unsalvageable, perhaps you should ask for a puppy cut (shave him down) or do it yourself. As the hair grows out, brush him daily and give him shampoo and conditioner every week or whenever you give Fred a bath. |

| I know there is also vitamin supplements for coat that you can get at Petco. I have heard wonderful things about them. I think it's like Missing Link or something that makes their coat stronger. Eggs will too. I use CC Systems and I love it. Linus was starting to look a little scraggly even an hour after he was brushed, but the CC stuff made his hair look wonderful. He's got that kind of curly, cottony coat too.

IF you decide to puppy-cut Fred I bet you will really see his hair grow back nice and tangle free - then you can keep up with it better. oh...almost forgot - I also use SEA BREEZE Oil on Chanel...that helps lay it flat too. | |
