| hard to believe!! I have a 5 year old Yorkie She is not a pet she is a family member. She goes every ware with us. She even has a place at the table when we eat.I did not plan this it just happens! My son lives next door and took in a 4 month old sitzu If any one touches the other dog she will not even come near us. She shuns you and will not even look at you. She seems very depressed it scares me. She will not even play with a toy if the other dog touches it. I cant believe Im saying this but our dog seems human!! and seems hurt. Any advise would be helpful |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I definitely think dogs feel jealous. When I am giving attention to one of mine the others will come over and push there way in. I think your baby will learn to like your son's dog but she may always show some jealousy. Just make sure you give her a lot ot attention when you are around the s**tzu and treats!

| I think they do have feelings, and can feel insecure. Hopefully in time he'll see how much you love him.

| Also meant to add that I just went through a similar experience, I have a 7 yr old Yorkie got a 5 month old puppy over Thanksgiving. My older dog adjusted in less than a week because I did the steps I listed in my previous post...sharing good experiences together such as walks and special treats, and the blankets with mixed scents placed in each other's crate or resting place. |
