Help female attacking male Hey all something crazy went on today. I was bathing my 2 yorkies, the male is only 12 weeks old today, having only 5 weeks with us. The female who is 2 years old and menstrating began to attack my boy puppy. They normally play fight and wrestle around but she was actually attacking him. WHY!!!! Is this normal for a menstrating female? Is she jealous? She was attacking him over and over! Needless to say she is locked in her cage, cause Daddy is fuming ! Please help me on this matter. Is it normal?

I have heard that females in heat may have aggressive tendencies, but since my little Yoda is a boy (last I checked!) I can't give any first-hand knowledge about that.

Believe or not, females tend to be more territorial than males. I mean, they get jealous of their little things (and their people). Make sure you give her some extra attention so she can understand that your baby boy won;t take her love and care away. When she is being nice to him praise her, and when real fights happen say NO. But remember, they probably will go thru a phase like that so they can find out who is the alpha.
