| Buy a yorkie christmas puppy!! I love christmas, its my fave time of year. Last christmas bailey was the size of my hand and even tho i got him a week before christmas i never wanted him as a christmas puppy. I had wanted one for such a long time and had done my back ground work on the breed. I knew what hard work any puppy is never mind a small breed which i read was harder to potty train, and boy are they hard work it REALLY is like having a baby. This christmas is so special to me having now a place of my own, just me and Bailey, he is such a little tinker makes me laugh so hard and keeps stealing my santa toy to hump it eeek lol! Pulling the balls off the tree to play with them and running around with decorations hanging out his mouth lol. I have just got the internet back up and working and am loving being bk on YT just to read other people are as crazy about the little furbutts as much as i am, it makes me smile sooo much (an not feel as crazy hehe) i was looking to see about getting bailey a little sister to join us and so was looking online. Its really upset me how many breeders are trying to sell a puppy for christmas and is using this wonderful family holiday to make money on puppies. Just reading some of the websites just upsets me so much.... I just want you to think when ur giving ur little yorkie some of the christmas dinner and snuggling up to ur little furbutt on the couch on christmas night that as lovley as this holiday is, it also is a chance for the puppymills to make so much money... and alot of sick little puppies being brought into the world to be sold as christmas gifts. Alot of people like myself do research about the breed and get a puppy at christmas by chance so please do not think i am saying it is bad or wrong to get a puppy at christmas. i just wanted u to think about all the puppies born to make money on this holiday at puppymills. It has really made me think about this holiday and on christams day i will be thinking about the ill little puppies who come from a puppymills and to the owners who think a puppy is a wonderful gift for christmas but do not understand how much work they really are. On the side tho alot of puppies do come from good breeders and go to loving homes at this time of year too. Just a shame not all of them do

| my baby was an xmas present but i had done like you did and spent months and months researching decidng which breed to get, I just got my own apartment so since wanting a puppy of my own since i could talk,my mother decided to help me find the right breed and at Christmas,she/he would be my present from her(we split everyting 50/50.mom would buy the dog, and I would buy all nessacary supplies, then we would each pay half of the vet care)so as everyone in this forum knos, they are not cheap and I could not ask my mom to do this just out of the blue, thats why she was my present...too bad not everyone puts as much thought into what they want out of a dog as YT people do...

| I happen to get my boxer two weeks before christmas 6 years ago. She's still in the family and she was from a humane society. This year I want to get my mom a dog, I know how much work they are and all the timing happen to be around Christmas. I know it's a special holiday and I want to get my mom something she wants, something special, and I think I may of found the perfect yorkie for her. It just so happens that I have a REASON to get her a wonderful gift. It is a shame about the puppies who are bred and sold to people who see a cute puppy on a pic or in a store and IN PULSE buy a dog for a gift. THAT is a shame and that's why I don't usually do pets as presents. But This isn't an inpulse buy for me, it's more then that. |

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | We cut off any sales of puppies on December 15. I don't raise prices. Puppies should not be a holiday gift; nor should rabbits or chicks be gifts at Easter. Pictures of puppies, IMHO, makes the best possible gift with the puppy arriving after all the holiday festivies are over. |

| I also would not sell a puppy for a christmas gift.. wrong thing for a good breeder to do.... I did however sell on as a birthday anniversary gift... and Diane said to me it was the gift that keeps on giving.. but this was an older couple with no kids at home that had been looking awhile when they met me... Diva is a special girl to them...I know Nancy that has my Annabella is getting a puppy I believe for christmas.. wanted one of Mara's boys.. but she had girls..but this is an older couple again.. anne |

| Aww in the right situation a puppy at christmas can be a wonderful thing, like bailey was to me i just feel so sorry for the puppies breed by puppymills to make money, alot of them are sick and not raised in the right enviroment and living conditions before being sold. If only all puppies came from loving breeders like on YT and went to loving homes with people who did not buy on impluse and did research first. Mind Bailey was in impulse buy at the time haha but i had done alot of research and wanted a puppy for over a year hehe. Maybe i am giving out the wrong impression haha i dont mind people buying puppies over christmas just upset that i know at this time of year puppies will be bred by puppymills to make more money, someone see's a cute little puppy in a pet shop or online and takes the puppy home not knowing how much work/money they really are or how sick and ill they might be. Just lookin at bailey an thinking that another little puppy out there was bred in bad conditions just to make money on this holiday upsets me. To the right person tho a puppy is a wonderful gift and was a lovely gift for me givin by myself haha i always get myself the best gifts hehehehe!!!
