| Coat Color Question? Hello everyone, I am a first time yorkie owner and I have a question about the color of my 2lb yorkie Ella. She is 14 months old and has never changed from her puppy colors. She is black on her back and her head is silver and gold. I was under the impression that as Yorkies get older their coats will change. I do love the color she is now so I was hoping that maybe it will stay this way. I guess what I am asking is at 14 months is she past the coat changing stage? |

| i was curious about this myself! jackson is my first yorkie! and personally, i like the color he is now even though he's still really young and i'm sure it will change. his fathers head has a lot of silver but his body is all black. can you generally tell what color they are going to be by his coloring he is now as a puppy? there's quite a few silver roots on his head... but his body is totally black. |

| i think i read on here that yorkies can change colors up to and even past 2 years! they might even change throughout their lifetimes miss buffey is 15 months and still solid black on her back...if she stays this color, i agree with you two, it is okay with me because i think she is beautiful the color she is

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Pixie started changing at almost 3 years of age. Cali is 3 1/2 and hasn't changed and Roxie is 15 months and I am just seeing a little silver coming in. So it really varies!
