| What to feed my yorkie with only front teeth My yorkie has lost most of her teeth as a result of neglect from her former owner. What would be good to feed her? She only has her front teeth. Any suggestions? She won't touch any dry food. Thanks |

YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | Try mixing the dry food with a little water so it's more mushy. Have you tried wet food at all? You could also scramble an egg and give her that. Mix in some cheese too if you'd like. They love it.

| Olivia has lost a lot of teeth too, due to same reason. I feed her a locally made raw grind, she loves it and her coat looks so much better too. And her poo is really tiny...just a nice little benefit!

| There are tons of good canned foods but you need to go to a specialty store. I like Nature's Variety, Merrick, Evangers, Innova... Canned food is actually better nutrition for your dog than kibble IF you get a high quality canned food. And Yorkies don't eat much so it's not much more expensive. Just brush the remaining teeth You could also do raw medallions or possibly dehydrated raw. I like the Grandma Lucy's "truth" which is cooked dehyrated food. It has garlic in it though, which is odd because I thought they couldn't have garlic. But it's a really neat concept! You have tons of options - just seek out a boutique that sells food and they will help you out!

| Canned food would probably be good for your little one. It would be easy for her to eat. I think the most concern that vets have with canned food is that its not good for their teeth if you dont brush them. As far as nutrition, its just as good or better than kibble. I use Wellness canned. They come in little half cans too. If you have trouble finding any of the foods people mentioned, you can usually go to the manufacturers website and there should be a spot to see the closest place to you they sell it. Here's an example Where to Buy Natural Pet Food, Organic Dog Food & Healthy Dog Treats – Natura Pet Products This is for innova.
