| Introducing myself HI EVERYONE! Hello everyone! My name is Kelly and I was so glad to find this forum! I dont know how I have missed this site. I have found other yorkie boards but they seemed to be inactive with very few posts. This one is hopping with tons of excellent information! I am a new small yorkie breeder in Illinois. I have 9 yorkies who I adore!! Peaches, Alice, Satin, peanut, pepper, Chada, cassie, Bowgirl and of course ornery Duke my stud! I have another little girl named Lil Miss BLUberi coming, she has some nice bloodlines and will be a wonderful addition to our family. My yorkies are pet quality (except Duke has nice lines) and Im trying to strenghten those great yorkie traits desired. I am a nurse who is staying at home with my 2 yr olld girl and 8 mth old boy and my yorkies are exceptionally precious to me, because without them I could have never stayed home! Its a ton of work caring for everyone but its the most fun working I have ever had. Right now I have two litters on the ground and another expected in 5 days........So I am very busy. I look forward to getting to know all of you, and Im so glad their are some experienced breeders on here, I do have two friends who are experienced but the more the merrier on advice! Im sure Ill need tons of it, and be glad to share any inof I have found valuable. Puppy HUGS! |

| Hi Luvdorkyyorkies. Glad you found Yorkietalk and welcome. What we love most here are pictures, LOL...so if you have any of your "gang" we'd love to see them. WOW, you must be so busy with your breeding business especially having two little kids. I just cannot imagine how you do it?? My friend is a breeder and she's lucky if she has time to burn a frozen pizza for dinner. I am devoted to just one little Yorkie girl, Schatzie. She is just about 9 months old and love her to pieces. Again, welcome and I hope you posts pictures.

| Yeah, you must have your hands full with that line-up at home!! I'm sure it's lots of fun and very rewarding though - being able to stay home with your kids and breed the best dog in the world! I follow Schatzie's sentiments - post pictures please!! Welcome to the board, I'm sure you'll love it, it's really great here!

| pictures Here are a couple pictures....the first one is a couple mean boys we found wonderful homes for at Christmas, the other is my Dukie who is a rascal too! THe thumbnail under my name is Peaches one of my yorkie girls. Thank you for the warm welcome! Yes my days are very full, and I have one little girl who is so much smaller then the rest of one of my girls litter that she cant compete for the boobie so Like today I was up at 4 am for the day and up twice before that for her feedings. SHe is 4 ozs at 3 days, and her sister and brothers are between 6-8 ozs, little butterballs and alot stronger. Hopefully in the next week or so she will be more able to help herself to a boobie!........LOL |

My husband helps me alot, he does almost all the shopping, and writing of bills, and fulltime job and I do the cooking, cleaning, kids, and doggies! He does clean the nighttime kennels occasionally to give me a break! BTW Schatzees mom.........your baby has more accessries then my daughter.......hee hee how cute! | Glad to hear you are loving being a Yorkie breeder. Nine, that is QUITE a handful, how do you manage to juggle all the Yorkies and your kids? I think you need a new title of Supermom. |

| LOL............I respond well to compliments.............oh yes Im all that and a bag of chips!! As for the juggling I should be in the circus..........hee hee..but seriously I just dont have a social life right now.........but really when kids are young who does have much of one? You get used to it, but if it wasnt something I really liked I would never last! The run down of my day is something like this. Wake up get my son a bottle my daughter juice and cartoons on, make coffee. Husband watches kids, Go check on mommies and babies and put the weak one on the boobie. Get cleaning supplies ready, let the dogs out and clean the night time kennels. Put out their food, water and papers. Come back and clean mommie and babie pens after mommies are let out for a brief time. Husband off to work, so I feed my kids breakfast, usually something fast like oatmeal or cereal. Do dishes, pick up, put in a load of laundry....etc...My son usually takes a nap so my daughter and I go play with the dogs, I look for heat cycles everyday to check who I need to separate and who I need to get with Dukie! I do not breed my dogs every heat!! I let my mommies out again, put sick baby on the boobie then fix something simple for lunch like ravioli and canned veg......afternoons I have some free time usually to take my daughter outside, playdoh, fold my laundry play on the puter some....its my connection to the outside world!! In the late afternoon, all the dogs go into their kennels, I clean up the floor and disinfect. I try to always fix a nice dinner. keep an eye on the mommies and babies, when the puppies get older it really will be busy, I do have someone availiable to help me if I need to rush a dog to the vet or kids get sick. I get up twice in the night to help new puppy feed. I live in a very big farmhouse, so I have a huge room for the dogs and a place to separate dogs too. With the weather nasty outside they cant go out but we have a large run. Unfortunately the yorkies are not as spoiled as many of yours! But they are very well taken care of and we do spend time with them........puppies are really socialized because its so important. Yes its hard work, but it is a labor of love, just like this little girl I have had to help every day and night, if she flourishes I wont be able to tell you how much joy that would give me!! I raise yorkies to supplement our income but it goes much much deeper then money........No fake here!...............LOL! |
