| need advice about spaying Lola will be 7 months on Nov 25. I think I am going to spay her. She is only 5.5 lbs. I am worried about the safety. Is she too small? Should I wait until she is older or after her first heat? I have read that it is better to spay before first heat to reduce cancer risk. Have also read that there is a chance she could have already started her heat cycle and she would bleed more. I have not observed any signs of heat yet. I need advice/opinions.Thanks in advance! |

What ever you do, definitely ask for pre-op blood work to assure that she has no other problems. I am presently dealing with liver issues discovered in my girl during pre-spay blood work, and many others here have had the same experience. Good luck.
