Heeelp! i just got a new puppy and omg hes soo cute! i know hes smart but he dosnt want to learn i guess.. he learned fetch but wont even try sit or anything. he is only 3.5 months so i'm not too wrried about that, what i am worried about though is him pottying all over the house! i take him outside regularly and the VERY few times hes pottyed outside i prase him and sometimes give im treats, but most of the time he like refues to use go potty outside. he litterly waits to come back inside, it drives my mother and i nuts. and if he does start inside and i see, i imeditly take him outside, but he stops and dosnt go outside, i bring him back in and a few moments later theres a puddle. i even bought him puppy pads that he wont use. hes even pottyed in his bed, i cleand it, but the moment i gave it back he peed on it again! how do i get him to stop pottying inside?! i'm worried my mom is going to make me get rid of him if it dosnt stop!

Are you using an enzyme cleaner like Nature's Miracle to clean his inside accidents? If not, he is still able to smell where he peed in the house before, and as long as he can he will continue to pee there.

no, i'm using watered bleach 50/50

Get some Nature's Miracle. You can find it at most petstores like Petsmart. Bleach is not good to clean up animal messes with. Besides being poisonous if your dog licks it up after you, it'll ruin your carpet.

These little yorkies are hard to train my 1 year old is finally getting it and still has acidents. Persistance is the key keep trying.

You have to be patient. Make sure when you take him out you use a leash so he can't just run and stay by the door. It sounds silly but I tell my pups when they go out on the leash to "go potty" they will get used to you saying that . Don't play with him when your out there just try to ignore him. Just walk where he walks and say "come on go potty". As soon as he goes, praise him then immediatly bring him in. He will eventually learn that outside is for business. I try to take mine out as soon as they wake up from a nap, and right after they eat. Good luck and be patient, he'll get there.

For starters, puppies need to be confined to smaller safe areas when they are young until they are potty trained. You can't give them too much freedom too early, or they will pee everywhere & leave a scent that makes them think it's ok. Is he in a pen, or crate, or kitchen or other safe room when you are not watching him?

Carpet and dogs don't work, especially when they are very young.

Yes too much room is not good! I'm potty training my baby right now and she's actually getting the hang of it. I'd say she's about 75 percent going on the potty pads. Which is pretty good, considering we've only been working with her for about 5 days and she's only 7 weeks old. We give her cheerios when she goes on the pad and she gets so excited cause she knows she getting one! It's so cute!
