Senior Yorkie Talker | Daisy got spayed today..... and I feel so useless!!! She is still woozy from the anesthesia and I know she is hurting! They gave her some pain medicine before I picked her up and they said I cannot give her anymore until in the morning. She also had 4 baby teeth pulled!! Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should try to make her more comfortable?

| How do you know she is hurting? If you really feel there's some danger or she's in pain, call the vet. I'm sorry this is happening. My baby was spayed last Tuesday and had no problems, but I understand your concern. I was scared half to death the entire day. Tammy

| I say give her some extra TLC and she'll be fine But of course if you feel its more serious, than call the vet. However, considering all that she's had done...in one day...she might just need some time to rest and recover...

Senior Yorkie Talker | She hasn't tried to go to the bathroom yet. I guess I may have to try what you did to see if she will go!!

| That is pretty common. Ellie really couldn't even stand up on the night of her spay. She had pain meds but was crying when she wasn't sleeping. Things were looking up for her by morning though. She peed in the early AM and was walking around the table wanting food.

| i would- she's had an IV in today which gave her fluids so she should have to pee keep in mind she may be loopy and quiet for a few days- it takes Layla a good 3 days to get over anesthesia- just like her mom it hits her hard |

She will be fine by tomorrow! Just watch for oozing or bleeding at the incision site. Usually, with smaller breeds, they are in a bit more pain than larger dogs, and that pain medicine will kick in, just make sure u keep her low key! Glad she made it out ok!

To the OP. I am sure Daisy will feel much better tomorrow. But I know how tough it is too see your little one in pain and "out of it" because of something we (as their owners) decide is best for them. But in the long run...it usually is.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Thanks everyone for all of your support! Daisy is doing a little better today. She is walking more and I got her to eat a couple bites of food and drink some water! Hopefully she will be better in a couple of days! I hate seeing her like this!!
