| ~Question about Golden Yorkies!~ Hello~ I was wondering if anyone on YT knows how golden Yorkie pup colors change as they get older. How would a dark pup's fur progress in relation to a light pup's fur? |

YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | Well, a golden is just that - gold. It's gold as a puppy, and pretty much gold as an adult too. They look like yorkies, but they are just lighter in coloring. Do a search on here for Golden Yorkies. There are some members who have them. Golden yorkies are actually out of standard.

| Oops, I meant to say "shades" in place of "colors." Golden Yorkies can have a variety of golden shades when their young, am I right? Some golden pups are light gold, while others are dark gold. How do these shades of gold progress as pups mature? I heard somewhere that light shades normally get darker and dark shades get lighter. Is that true? Or is there a higher chance that the pup will turn out lighter if he is born a lighter golden color? |

| Its funny because one of Lolas pups to me looks like a Parti Yorkie. She is Silver and Black and a little golden around her mouth...All my other pups are black and gold. They are 9 months old now.... |

YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | A parti yorkie has some white it in. A golden is mostly all gold. I found a picture of a golden yorkie as a puppy. Here is the link .... Rare reg golden yorkshire terrier female puppy. And, here are some as adults .... Pizzazz Pups - The Golden Yorkie

| Some golden yorkies are clear coated and some are sooty coated (darker golden hairs mixed within the lighter gold) Photos of clear coated golden yorkies showing different "shades" of gold. These pups are one solid golden shade with no darker saddle markings CYTC...Club Photos Some have sooty markings intermingled and some have darker gold saddles. Some, I've been told may also produce chocolate yorkies - but I'm not sure if these golden yorkies are actually caused by the same gold genes that produced the above yorkies or if there is another gene or modifier involved.
