| Green line tattoo on belly Can anyone tell me anything about a green line tattoo on the belly of yorkies? I recently rescued a yorkie who was in the middle of the highway. After locating the owners, she did not want the yorkie anymore. So, I kept her. She is the most loving, wonderful little thing. She weighs about 7 - 8 lbs. She is spayed and I now have her UTD on shots. She has a straight green line tattooed down the center of her belly (where her belly button is). I asked the vet and he did not know what or where it could come from. Could it be a breeder mark? It does not matter to me....I am just curious as to what it could be and the meaning behind it. I will try to take pictures tonight. |

| I have heard that some kennels or puppy mills tattoo their breeding dogs. Not sure if it true or not. |

| No No some shelters do that to prove that the dog has been spayed or neutered.

| could be it... I guess that could be possible since I do not know anything about Lucky's past.... I would not think that she was from a shelter because she is such a wonderful dog with no "issues" at all. She is very loving to everyone, gets along with all animals, plays with kids, LOVES to ride, etc. Plus, she was never breed. I don't know....I guess anything is possible though. My neice rescued a dog from a shelter and she has an "S" tattoed on her belly which stands for "Spayed"..... |

| I had a friend who's dog had a line like you're describing. She couldve easily not been from a shelter but the owner's couldve gotten her spayed at one (it's cheaper to do it at animal shelters). Just one thought!
