| There's dog food all over my house! So Pepper has this habit of picking up a few pieces for food at a time and holding them in her mouth while she runs over to where I am. Then she drops them on the ground and only eats half of them; leaving the rest on the floor. There is food all over my house, literally! We've been sweeping and vacuuming everyday! Has anyone ever had this problem? Or do you have any suggestions? I don't know where she learned this! Thanks in advance. |

Sadie Mae would take and "bury" pieces all around the house. Behind pillows, under blankets, under the bedsheets. She did it all her life. I think I'm to blame tho, before I left for work each day I'd hide biscuits all around for her to find throughout the day. Not actually under anything, but just in various places around the house. So maybe she was hiding food for me, it seems I'd always find it and then give it to her, so it may have been a game she played with me.

Hot Rod used to do this when he was a puppy. I would constantly find pieces of food on the living room floor. He would play, run and get a piece of food and run out and eat it and so on til he got full then he'd just drop it on the floor. We could never figure why he did this.

YT 500 Club Member | Minr rarely eats food directly out of her dish. She always picks up a few pieces and runs to the carpet, drops them and eats them off the carpet. Usually she gets them all. We haven't had the problem of food all over. My brother in-laws dog does the same thing (not a Yorkie). Great idea about having your baby clean it up.

| My 6 year old yorkie and 3 year old biewer still do this. They will get their food(about 10 pieces) in their mouths and take it and put it on the carpet or in their beds and then eat it |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Several of my dogs do this it is amazing that they can pick up so many pieces of pebbles in their mouths like that.We don't have a problem with food being left behind as bubbles is our vacuum cleaner dog and will eat anything.

| Hehehe....my daughter's silky terrier picks through his food - he'll get a mouthful, takes it into another room and spit out the pieces he doesn't like! My daughter makes him clean it up too...can't help but laugh at him, picky little critter!
