| congratulations! but 8 weeks is too young to leave the mom, puppy might have problems. you might want to look into that and do some research because you want to do what's best for the puppy and make sure she won't have any health issues.

| Thank you. She is at a very healthy size right now yorkiepuppie. She is also eating solid food and doing very well. So I will keep that in mind though.

Although they are physically able to be on their own at 8 weeks, they learn so much from their mom and litter mates in the 8-12 week period that it is very beneficial to the puppies. And it makes it a lot easier on us humans to have that additional teaching done by their 'pack'. I have gotten puppies at 8-9 weeks of age and at 12 weeks and I do see a difference in their attitudes. For myself, I would not want them to miss that last 4 weeks with their mom/litter mates. Only you know what will work best for you, everyone is different...that's what makes this world so very wonderful. Congrats!! Have you decided on a name yet? Please post pictures as soon as you can. We just love pictures here at YT!
