| Trixie~Belle's visit to the vet! Some good things and some bad! First off.. the *Good*... I have such a BRAVE little Trixie-Belle! She did really GREAT! She was of course nervous and so forth, but not shaking at all when we first went there and did sooo good! They went ahead and gave her the reg. yearly shots since we didn't know whether to beleive the lady that had her before us on it or not, and they said even if she had them before the more extra doasge wouldn't hurt her or whatever, so we did it to be safe, and she also of course got her rabies shot! She weighs in at 6.2 lbs! Sooo.. she's a healthy little lady at least right now. They gave me some de-wormer to give her also-which is kinda weird since he didn't even check her for anything... ...*Bad* Honestly.. I will not go back to this vet again! He was our main vet for Daphne (our pomeranian) and we've always loved him and the way he was always with Daphne, and well I guess alot has changed in the time we had her there. first off, he wasnt concerned with ANY of her history.. where she came from, puppymill, the past few weeks of her being here, her past, nothing. He didn't even ask anything or seemed caring at all, and in the past, he was always asking questions and wanting to know these things ya know? He just seemed like way to the point and wanted to get her *over with*. He just looked her over, her teeth, her eyes, and then weighed her.. gave her the shots and said that was it! I was like, "ummmm.. I have some questions and concerns before we are finished", then he was like, "okay". I explained to him about Toby (Trixies bro that Amy-NewlywedWifey) came from the same place and that her vet dianosed him with Ear Mites and so forth and I know that sometimes Trixie scratches at her ears and shakes her head a lot and all and he just looked inside them and said, "I think its just dirt that we see", and Im like, "umm okay", and then HE asked me HOW that vet diagnosed the ear mites, and I was like, "aren't you the vet? Shouldnt I be asking YOU that", I mean he acted like he didn't even want to bother or know how to do it! So I told him what I knew, but the whole time he was checking her for them he just kept on and on about how dogs never hardly have them and its usually only with cats and so forth.. but low-and-behold, guess who magically has ear mites afterall?? Yup.. so he gave her some drops and gave me some to give her at home and some to Daphne just in case too... he didn't even check her butt or whatever for WORMS! I asked him about this and he said it didn't really matter if he checks or not, as the de-wormer he gave me will do the job and prevent them and so forth anyways! Sooo.. all in all, I am so happy we have a happy, healthy little Trixie, but sooo disappointed in the *vet* himself... . I really loved him too and I can't believe he is like this-maybe he just had a really bad day, but IMO, when you are working with animals, you are not suppose to just have the attitude of *lets get it over with* on ANY of them! Not a good way to have patients/customers coming back to you... which we have decided that we are gonna look for a new one.. if we can even find one, as there's only 1 other in town and from the past, he's not very good that I hear of.

| It sounds like this vet was having a very very bad day. I'm so glad to hear Trixie is happy and healthy. |

| That's sad about the vet, great to hear Trixie is doing great though! Sometimes it's hard to switch vets, but if you aren't happy with your current one, you may have to just find another... |

| WOW~ thats not good on his part as the DOCTOR. he didnt check her at all for worms or anything and just gave her the de-wormer??...thats not good practice at all. He and all vets ARE supposed to check over EVERYTHING no matter what it is before they perscribe meds to any animal... doesnt sound like a good doctor at all..doesnt matter if hes having a bad day or not.. BUT so glad to hear your baby is in great health and doing well best of luck in finding a new and BETTER vet for your precious baby
