| Need some helpful information I will talk to her vet about this but just curious abuot your experiences. How old were your babies when their teeth fell out? Coco's back molars have come in but her front teeth are so tiny. She's almost 6 months and it doesn't look like her teeth will fall out anytime soon because her front ones are tiny. I give her lots of hard stuff, but I'm not really familiar with this process. My other dog, from years ago that I used to have, was just healthy and great. I never knew about this kind of stuff and we had her since 3 months old. How does this process of teeth work? How do I know if teeth need pulling.

| Your vet should know. Jewels weren't falling out either so the vet extracted some when she was spayed. The smaller Yorkies teeth dont always fall out on their own.

| Esme was kind of delayed in this area. I had read that by 6 months, the teeth would start falling out. Well, Esme didn't loose any teeth until she was almost 7 months. I was really worried thinking it was going to be really expensive to get all those teeth pulled. When she was spayed at 7 months, the vet said we would wait on the teeth since she was still young. Sure enough within a month she had lost all but 2. The last two fell out a little after that. You can tell because the grown up teeth are larger and not as sharp. My husband did not want to pay to get those teeth removed so we played A LOT of tug a war! I even caught him wiggling them for her! LOL! I was able to save 3 of them.

| Nobella: Her teeth could possibly have already come out. Chewy is also 6 months and only 2 weeks ago I noticed that there we NO teeth on the bottom front and now they are growing back but they are tiny. My vet says she likes to fix yorkies at 10 months so that she can pull the teeth if needed. |

| Well that's just it. It too late now to do anything because she's getting spayed friday, and I know the vet wouldn't extract yet because they are still tiny in the front. I also don't really have the ability to pay a ton of money to get them pulled. So I've been getting her lots of fun treats to chew on and lots of tug of war.

| Roxy was spayed at 7.5 months. Her spay was $130 and she had to have 9 teeth pulled for $45 ($5 a tooth - not too bad)! Her total was $175 TJ has been loosing teeth and I didn't even know it until he chewed on my white robe and I saw some blood. I checked his mouth and each day he would loose some and the adult came in so fast! As a matter of fact, TJ was neutered on 8/12 and I just checked his mouth last night and saw that 2 adult teeth are coming in next to his bottom baby fangs. I am so mad at myself for not double checking the morning of his surgery. BUT I was so concerned about his tummy bothering him that morning that I completely forgot about double checking his teeth. So now, I have to hope the rest fall out on their own! |

| how do you know if they've fallen out or not? I know it's stupid questions but this is my first yorkie. I never knew you had to worry about this stuff.

| The adult teeth are a little thicker, larger and more opaque than the baby teeth...Trust me you will know when she is getting them...If they do not come out naturally they will have to be extracted, but the good news is tooth extraction is not that expensive at all. I think for the extractions Bruce had I paid like $20 per tooth and he had anesthesia. I would discuss it with your vet so you are prepared if and when they do require extraction!

| You might be able to see empty areas where teeth used to be. Your vet can tell for sure. There is no way I could even tell if Jewels teeth were baby teeth or permanent. They were so small.

| Roxy clearly had a double row of teeth on the top and bottom. I found 3 of her teeth when she was 6 months old. TJ was only 4 months so I just figured they were hers. I waited for her to be 7.5 months and no more came out so I went ahead with surgery and they removed the rest. When TJ was loosing his front upper and bottom I had NO CLUE, b/c they were so tiny and I never found one. It wasn't until I saw some blood on my robe, then I checked his mouth and saw a fresh hole (no tooth), I checked everyday (for a week or so) and then no more. I couldn't wait any longer he had to be neutered, but I just figured since his were falling out that he wouldn't have the same problem as Roxy. Well, now his has his bottom fangs coming in right next to the baby ones! OH I really hope they come out on their own! |

| Nobella, you might be able to talk about it with your vet when you go to drop off coco. They can do both at the same time. The vet should know if the teeth need to be extracted or not. Plus you can always rechedule the appt and wait it out another month if you don't want to have to do two surgeries, it still not too late, I'm sure. (except for the anxiety of getting it over) We waited intil annie was about 8 months, that way we knew for sure that all of her teeth had fallen out and the ones that hadn't (which were doubled up at that point) were pulled... When I went to her spay appt I just told the vet can you pull her extra teeth. There were about 4 of them and he charged me $15 per tooth. So it wasn't that much more expensive. So you might still have time today to call your vet and dicuss it with him/her. |

| They didn't pull all of Maximus' teeth...grrrr...I am still kinda upset about this whole thing but let's just say that Maximus has 2 sets of fangs right now..and the baby ones don't look like they are going anywhere soon....so eventually he will have to get them pulled!!!!
