| My 7mo. female yorkie eats her poop!!! It's a little embarrassing. My baby eats her poop. Does anyone else have this problem? I have a male 17mo old and I've never had trouble with him. Does anyone have a solution? I leave their food down 24/7. She can't be hungry. I don't know what to do, please help!!! COCO PEBBLES |

| Scooby hides his. If he has an accident, he will use his nose to scoot it somewhere where he thinks we won't see it or he runs to the laundry room and drags something back to cover it! It is too funny to fuss at him!

Senior Yorkie Talker | Daisy does this too! It is so embarrassing & disgusting. She is not as bad as she used to be b/c she gets scolded for it when I see her doing it. She usually only does it now when I am not home. (we use the puppy pads) When she does eat it, she gets very sick. You would think that once she got sick once, she would learn to not do it, but she still does it sometimes. I did try the tablets at Petsmart, but they did not work for her. Sorry, maybe someone else will be able to give you a solution!

| Feed her pineapple it makes the poop taste bad. I find it so funny that dogs eat poop. I have a little kitten and it never eats poop. It makes you wonder why dogs do that and cats dont. I quess cats are more finicky

| So does Sasha who is almost 8 months. The good thing is that she normally goes twice a day when I am still at home so I can catch her. She'll lick it (YUCK) but I shoo her away before she actually eats it. Since she usually goes right after she eats (I give her wet and dry food), my guess is the wet food hasn't completely digested and it still smells like food to her. Sometimes I can still see bits of carrots in her poo since it's orange and stands out. |

| Same her with my furbaby... I heard you can try sprinkling some meat tenderizer on their food or give them fresh pineapple. That may deter them from eating their own poop. I've tried the fresh pineapple, it helped somewhat, but she just went back on eating it again after I stop giving her the pineapples. Maybe I just need to feed her the fresh pineapple for a longer duration.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Some believe that dogs eat poop because of the undigested protein in poop. This is the reason product such as unseasoned meat tenderizer and pineapple work; they help to digest the protein. It's not so much that these products make the poop smell "bad" but that it no longer smells "good" in other words it no longer smells nutritious. Some proteins are easier to digest than others, and you might want to reconsider the food you are giving your dog. Here's an article with some tips. Stopping Dogs From Eating Poop

| hmmm... I heard it had something to do with them watching their mom clean up...so they clean up... and then i think maybe it's to do with being scolded and they think well if i clean it up mommy/daddy never knew it was there... and then their missing something or it's not entirely digested so they figure hey why not re-eat what i... (you know the rest!). My moms Boston puppy did that and we read up on the net that to give them plain yogurt and it worked for her! Good Luck!

They both are pad trained so I pick it up asap. But if I'm out that's trouble. I'm hopeing she grows out of it. How could she do that she's so cute!! lol COCO PEBBLES |
