Turning into a lap dog! So my Pepper has never wanted to stay put on my lap before recently. We took her to my boyfriend's parents this weekend and she wouldn't leave my lap for most of the time, which I understand because she is very shy. Now that we're home she jumps on my lap when I watch TV, read or am sitting down for any length of time. I just wanted to know if this is a maturing thing or if she is just still in that habit from this past weekend. When did your yorkies start being lap dogs, if ever. Pepper is just over a year old and we've had her since June.

Sasha "turned" into somewhat of a lap dog as well. In the beginning she would never sit still in my lap unless she was sleepy. And getting her to settle down at night (and sleeping in in the morning) was a nightmare. But now at almost 8 months, she'll crawl in my lap (or on top of my head, neck, side, however she can lay on me) all on her own. I just chalked it up to her growing up and getting those puppy tendencies out of her system.

Nala is very hyper and runs all around. But for some reason whenever I sit on the couch and she's on the couch chewing away at a toy...she has to do it in my lap. A whole couch to lay on...and she chooses my lap to sit on...Lol... I hope she does calm down as she gets older because I really prefer a lap dog But whenever I go to my grandmother's house, I find Nala is very quiet and calm and lays in my lap and relaxes...I wish it was always like that lol...
