I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | OMG Tatum was just thrown up in the air!!! I am freaking out so bad right now! We are staying over at my moms because our AC went out AGAIN (we just went through this a few months ago ) and anyway as some of you know my mom has an in-home daycare although right now she only has one little girl who just turned a year old. Anyway, the baby's mom came over here to pick her up this afternoon and brought her 6 year old daughter with her. Well, my mom and the baby's mom and her 6 year old daughter were all in the living room (all of the Yorkies were in there as well) and I was in the kitchen getting a bottled water out of the fridge. I was in the kitchen for all of 2 seconds and I turned around to see the 6 year old THROWING Tatum up in the air like a ball!!!!! Thank GOD she caught her!!!! Before I could even say anything or go in there to get her, she threw Tatum on my mom's overstuffed chair that she has in the living room and Tatum was SO freaking scared that she flew up on my arm of the over stuffed chair and JUMPED OFF!!!! Tatum never ever (I mean NEVER) jumps on OR off of ANYTHING, so I know she only jumped because she was scared out of her MIND. My moms chair sits up pretty high too (well, high for Tatum) so I absolutely FREAKED OUT when I saw her do that!!!! She already has a high grade LP and is limping on her back left leg (although she has LP in both legs), I DO NOT need her limping on the right one. I ran up to her and took Tatum out of her arms and told her, "Sweetie, you can't do that...she is little!" OMG, I'm sorry...I LOVE kids to death but what is WRONG with some parents??? Can they not watch their children and teach them how to handle small animals???? Not to mention, these people have a Shih Tzu that isn't all THAT big (and a Mini Dachshund as well)...and I hate to think that she does these same things to her dogs This just has me SO upset. Tatum could have been VERY seriously hurt just from jumping off that chair alone (I can't even believe she did that, my eyes about bugged out of my head when I saw it!!! ) not to mention - I don't even want to KNOW what might of happened had she not of caught Tatum when she threw her up in the air because she threw her up HIGH!!! Anyway, I just had to vent and I am so shaking right now. My poor little girl...she was scared to DEATH and her little heart was pounding so hard I am just so thankful that everything is ok : (

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | OH BROOKE!!! I am furious FOR YOU!!! OMG, I would feel JUST as upset - and I don't know that I could've held my cool like you did! Thank god she was okay! WHAT on earth was that parent thinking????? I'm sorry, but what an IDIOT. No sensible parent would let a child throw a creature around. Would that parent let that child throw a BABY??? UHHHHHHH! Makes me ill. I'm so sorry this happened to you, I'm so mad I feel like it almost happened to me too - only bc I know how upset I'd be! So, vent away all you need to - bc you're in good company. Maybe you should say something add'l to that parent. Kisses to our dear Tatum! And HUGS to you too, my friend!!

| Oh Brooke, I would have been freaking out too! I see that all the time, kids that don't know how to approach or treat animals properly. I'm always worried about the animals getting hurt and/or the kids getting bitten! How did the Mother react? I hope little Tatum is ok!!

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | You are very kind, and nice and collected, I'm not, that spoiled little brat will have been the one thrown in the air,no, not really, but a 6 years old is old enough to know not to do that. Did her mom say something???

| I'm not as kind as you are, honestly don't know how you managed to keep your cool. Personally, I don't know why parents would think it was acceptable for their children to pick up another persons pet. I'm so thankful little Tate is okay, I know it would have scared me to death to begin with and then I'd be mad as ****. |

| Poor little yorkie! I am glad your little yorkie is okay! You are a very patient person to address that child the way you did. I KNOW I would have snapped quickly and would want to jerk a knot in that child's tail! I mean really one must wonder why does the parent not teach the child to behave in someone else's home and even more to treat animals with respect. You are right, yorkies are small dogs and since getting my first yorkie almost six months ago I am learning more each day that they really cannot be treated in many ways like other dogs are treated. I tried to let mine outside the other day and it was a typical cool fall morning but she would not go out at all, neither would my daughters little yorkie who is two weeks younger. It was cool to me but cold to them. I got to thinking about it and realized they are really not like other dogs, they are so much smaller and will feel more the cold wheather. I am sure they will not want to go out at all this winter. Sometimes the wheather here in the northern Virginia area can be really bad in the late fall and winter. I think I am going to buy more piddle pads and hope for the best! Take good care of your baby, I am glad he/or she seems okay from the throwing fiasco. |

| Poor Tatum. She must have terrified. I'll never understand people who don't teach their children how to handle animals - of any size - and what can happen if they are mishandled. I'm so glad she wasn't hurt.

| Poor little Tatum, to be so caught off guard like that I can't stand those parents who don't teach their children proper manners Not only towards animals, but also towards other people and their property. Some kids are just out of control (ie. my parents' friends have kids who leave a path of destruction wherever they go...and one of them is 15!). Makes you just want to discipline their kids since they won't do it themselves

| Kids are awesome, I have three! But unless they are yours and understand how to treat a doggie with respect, I NEVER get near anyone else's child. I sometimes think am I the only parent showing her kids how to treat animals. I had a kid tapping my yorkie on her head and I told him not to do it anymore, mom did absolutely nothing, he did it again, and I pushed his hand away nicely, he cried |
